MX Blue Multiple Actuations

I have a question for you all.. I have lurked for a long time, and thoroughly enjoy your forum :)

I have an Xarmor usbl keyboard (so mx blue switches), and use it all day long at the office, and is even typing this message.  I has performed flawlessly with one exception, which I need your advice on.

When the keyboard sits for a few hours (computer still on tho), the "T" key will actuation multiple times with one keypress.  So if I type the letter "T" once, I get ttt in the middle of my word.  Sometimes its 2 t's sometimes its 4 t's.  If I hit the key 10-15 times, it will stop repeating on a keypress, and will work fine all day.  Everyone once and a while during the day, I will get a double letter, but it is pretty rare.

Is the switch failing, is the pcb to switch maybe faulty?  KB controller?  I take great care of this thing, no eating around it or anything, even with it at my desk.  It has the coffee threat daily, but has remained unscathed.  Anyone have any advice on what the problem could be.  Every other key works no problem.  Only the "T" key is affected.

Thanks for any advice :)

Search the wiki for key chatter.

Switch either needs to be reseated/compressed air or needs to be replaced.

Awesome, thank you stingrae.  I was not sure what the term was.  I see lots of info now that I know what to search for.  I will try them and report back :)

Much appreciated!

Welcome to Geekhack, Kingu!

Feel free to post the results. Hopefully just some compressed air into the keyswitch will solve it for you.

I am happy to report my "t" key has been working great since this recommendation.  I took the keycap off, pointed the tip of the air can in the crease of the key stem, and it must have worked.  I blew with the key up, as well as pressed, and it has not given me a lick of problems since.

Thank you very much for your recommendations :)

Although it is because of this forum that I now am a mechanical keyboard nut.  I have this xarmor blue at work, and a ducky shine brown at home.  Rubber dome keyboards are icky to work on now.  People still flip when I tell them this is a 150 dollar keyboard.  :D  I tell them it is worth every penny!
