LF: Someone to Mod my QF Blues to Green or "Ghetto" Green
« on: Thu, 07 June 2012, 14:28:08 »
okay having just tried clears and liking them.

The Blues I have on my QF are nice but too light.

I want someone to Mod my Blue switches to Greens.

I don't have switches or Springs. So I will need to find them, or you supply them (and I pay you for them!)

What I can offer is either a reasonable price for the service, plus a GH Red on White DS! in payment.

or I don't know, let me know what your willing to do it for.

Only other thing of significant interest I have is a Ducky keychain with Yellow keycap (mx black), I might be willing to let go.

I also have, which I can trade is the tsangan kit add-on for Rags Red on Black DS. Its missing the Star keys, but those should be coming.

I have a few Beeker R1 keys PTB.

also have a full white printed PTB set from Qtan with 1 exception, the '/ ?' key is white engraved. I might be willing to  let this go as well.

Also a bunch of Red on White GH DS keycaps I can throw in!

oh and I have an almost new Razer Deathadder mouse I can offer in trade as well!

Are the switches platemounted, or PCB mounted?

If platemeounted, you can open them using 3 little screwdrivers and replace spring and stem, or just the springs (use black springs for that).

Otherwise this requires desoldering ...

I would offer to do it, but I think shipping it back and forth would be quite costly.

Well it depends.

I think it would cost about $15 each way to ship. Those shipping costs will be similar within Canada as well.

But I will wait a bit and see if I can find someone in Canada, it will easier and hopefully cheaper!

I think you mean if they're PCB mounted the OP can open them easily...

I modded a QFR from reds -> browns before, but unfortunately I'm located in the US so shipping alone would probably run $30+

I am not ruling out to have to ship to the US and back.

Shipping within Canada is not that much cheaper. The main prob I for-see is with cdn customs getting their grubby hands on it!

Give me PM's with quotes for the service if you willing to offer.

I will consider all offers.

Yeah, I bought a keyboard from Canada, and it sat in customs for a while. For that matter, so did the ones I bought from Germany.

I just modded placebo guy's filco from mxblack to ergo clear + mxblue. I got to keep the 104 mxblack so I have the springs for your ghetto green mod even. Send me a PM if you're interested in my service.
