got my $25 Brand-New Orbitouch today (sells usually for $399, $800 when it came out)
from here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=52730.0

but to my absolute shock when i opened up the box it was BLUE, like very very blue, wow, just wow. its kind of a light blue but not really light (sifo? lol)

the ebay description nor the box indicates anything about it being blue. but it is new and it was cheap. and i am going to try it out just for giggles (i may end up liking it)

Although they say it's suitable for anyone who wants an alternative to normal keyboard, and i agree, they state they have the best results with those with developmental disorders (like autism) and some other neurological related things. I can see children being more successful with it if they HAVEN'T used a normal qwerty keyboard ever before.

It's not bad, just a lot of time to learn and be at an acceptable wpm, time I could be using making keyboards and playing video games. but who knows....boredom and insomnia does strange things to me..

110 mx clears from Mk.com. Glad to have them, but $10 shipping and $20 in duty leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I should have proxied them.

Then some custom keycaps.

After that maybe some different springs, and a few landings pads.

Then you should be good to go ;)

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. Well, already have a custom plate on the way from the imsto gb.  Not sure I'm that keen on desoldering and resoldering all switches though.  I can see the appeal of building a 60% from scratch though.  Will give that a thought ...

Got this awesome funky G80 with vintage blacks from Ivan today. This thing feels AMAZING! I'd honestly never felt linears before, and this thing feels awesome to type on. It's also in pristine condition. I'm so glad he sold this to me, and for a very reasonable price as well! I think it's become my new favorite board...

And also don't hate on the weird purple caps or it being ISO...I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this board  :p

Awesome keyboard, awesome proxy!
(Attachment Link)

did jwaz proxy or was it someone else?

Nah, I got this proxied from a GH/OCN member. I don't think jwaz ended up proxying any boards.

As for the keycap puller, yeah, I have an MKC puller that I use instead :thumb:

Nice collection too. And it all started with the UN building ;)

Something like this might be a bit nicer.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
