My Penumbra key cap order arrived today, courtesy of a lot of hard work and dedication from [CTRL]ALT. Complete over the moon with this set. More here.

The GB still appears on PMK site.

My spreadsheet is probably not up to date, but at 18th April the total for one of everything was $620.

It might have dropped slightly as the last minute rush of orders.

In 1996, the Silicon Graphics Indigo 2 with the MIPS R10000 CPU and Maximum IMPACT graphics was the most powerful desktop computer in the world.
SGI's lineup was 64-bit more than a decade before Intel PCs. The floating point performance of the R10000 was ten times that of any Pentium at the same clock speed. The RAM was limited to 1 GB, but nobody had that much because the RAM chips of that time would run too hot. It ran SGI's version of Unix with a good-looking graphics user interface at 1600×1200 resolution at a time when most PCs ran DOS in CGA mode.

These days, it's performance is eclipsed by a friggin phone.
Anyway, this is just a shell that will house my next desktop PC, whatever that will be.

Yeah that's a really sweet case! I do love the old PC cases of the 90s.. when they wernt really designed to be upgraded like the big beige boxes... they have such sweet styling to them! How big is it? You can't really get a sense of scale from the pic :P

It is as wide as the full-size Alps "Bigfoot" keyboards that used to come with them. It is just as deep as it is wide, so the footprint on the desk would be huge, but then it was common in its day to place a huge CRT monitor on top of it .. or place it vertically, but I lack the "foot-stands" for that. Five inches high.

That thing looks really cool. What did you do with the old innards?
The seller had already stripped it for parts... but otherwise shipping wouldn't have been affordable.

Very nice. I loved all the SGI cases, but this one was (is) my favorite:

Granite set and a wire puller.  I thought F5 - F8 were the same color as the modifiers, but the flash made the difference apparent.

That's what I plan to use for my 360C too! Gotta use Cherry stock springs man. I would go for stock red springs.

White - nice :)

All we need now is a white Topre version i.e. FC660C!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
