got you beat on this one too. i've got an MDV-3 that i burnt the motor down on so i'm replacing it with the dual turbine 4hp motor from the insane-o-blaster military series.

Sadly they don't really work well with my Jailhouse Blues switches because of some properties specific to that mod =/  Too bad!

what's the story behind this? i've never seen it before

It was made by Boost and a very limited number of them were produced. I was lucky enough to get one from Moose.
There is more information in the thread here.

No click or some click, depending on how you make them.  Stem is elongated, so actuation is closer to the top of the travel distance.  Plus the travel distance is shortened.  So the bump is close up, short travel distance, and yes, they are quiet.

Blues and green should be left as is. As they are perfect switches.

Sadness :(

I got mine today too and spent part of my evening stickering my Clears for my GH60 and tossing the clear switch covers on them.  They were already lubed, just was waiting on those two things.  I tossed the switches on a spare Wyse plate I had sitting around, so I should get some pics up tomorrow.  They look sexy with Clears.  Sadly, you can't really see through them all that well and see the purple stickers underneath.  Oh well.

I'm still not sure if I'll sell the white ones I got too or if I'll toss them on my Filco tenkey as part of the mod I'm doing to it.

Yeah, they look cool.  I kinda like them without stickers more.  It's just the clear housing is ever so slightly tighter inside than the normal black housing, so my modified stems have less room--which is bad.  It'd be fine for regular stems.

Finally got my Night Owl. :D

I put it on my black HHKB. Sadly I currently can't take pics.

I already read it somewhere, but the base color of the night owl isn't depth black like stated on the ek site. It's a different black, a bit lighter/different. You see it when you directly compare it with a depth black one, especially in daylight. Not that this is bad... I really love how it looks in real. Just wanted to say.

Found it. I know I already read that somewhere... there was a comparison pic in this auction http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=49685.msg1076351#msg1076351
And the difference is even better to recognize in real.

Stickers from Mimic and clear switch covers.  The covers came yesterday, so I was finally able to finish my 67g Ergo Clears for my GH60.  Not amazing pics since I just busted out my camera, didn't do a proper light setup, and shot away to get some pics, but wanted to show them off.  I can't wait to actually use them.

For holding switches.  I may use it or another plate I have for a custom wood case and direct wire keyboard.  It's just one of the plates I had from one of the Wyse boards I cannibalized.  I sanded off the powdercoating to make it look nicer.

What is that liquid?

The liquid is "juice" which gets put through an atomizer and becomes a vapor.  Mine is coffee flavored.  I love coffee.

If you ever want it to have a themed paint job, I do that sort of thing.  :thumb:

Yea, I noticed that on reddit.
This cap already has a buyer. Gasmasks are nice, but they're not my style.

I actually just used this picture in "Post your Clacks" - but it belongs here also. New board & 2 new cap's. Getting new stuff = cool.

If anyone is interested in the new board I can take some pictures of it. My requirements in this case were 45g uniform 104 key Realforce preferably in black (not Type Haven which was a huge disappointment, it's nothing like my other 2 actual 45g uniform Topre boards). Enjoy:

You would ;) :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, I just sanded it yesterday, so the steel is all nice and fresh.  I just sometimes find it easier to stick a bunch of switches on a spare plate than tossing them in a bag or box.
