What do the keycaps on that look like (when removed from the board)?  They look the same profile as BS keycaps.  Just wondering ...

They look like this... cross post from somewhere I can't remember....
From clickykeyboards.com

Thanks for the pic :)

Similar to BS keycap, but as heedpantsnow said with a more solid stem.

The barrels look shorter?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Got this sweet old lady in today:
Show Image

I'm keeping the computer, and sending the keyboard on to sby overseas.

It's in great condition except for a scratch on the front edge, keys still have good texture:
Show Image

Not much shine on spacebar either:
Show Image

The board should make its new owner happy, and the computer will make a great learning environment for my son. 🏻

Edit: and I got this. I was all excited, thought I got a steal in eBay, but it turned out to be the rubber dome M. Argh. That's why I should leave it to the experts I guess.

Show Image

Congrats on the Dolch!  And if you don't want that IBM, I still like them even though they're rubberdome.  ;)

How tough was it to take the keycaps off on the IBM?  I've tried and tried on some of mine but I feel like I'm having to put waaaay too much force compared to an BS M stem.

Yeah it was a lot more force than I'm used to. I only took 1 off, the ESC key, and I used two butter knives because my wire puller wasn't strong enough.
I'm back.

Got a package from ubibaba742 yesterday, was hoping bright sunlight would enable me to take a better pic of the KRAP but my skills/camera still aren't up to trans.

This is shot in dull light which gives you some idea how bright this stuff is - love it! :D

I wonder what would be the point to make a double shot key set with unreadable legends with such low contrast plastics' colors.

That is an awesome keycap puller, I love the wooden handle on it. I'm sure that will hold up much better than other keycap pullers, *cough* NPKC *cough*.

I just tried it out - it's incredibly solid. The length of the wire is a little shorter than my Filco wire-puller and they kind of naturally splay apart (so you don't have to spread the wires apart with your fingers before pulling a cap, you can almost just push it on).

Feels x100 better than anything I've used so far, and the wood looks gorgeous in person!

I'm very jealous, congrats on winning it. Definitely a cool one-of-a-kind to own, I've been struggling to find a good keycap puller that lasts longer than pulling off one set. I've been hearing good things about Filco, that may be my best bet.

i have another spacebar that's a little bit closer to the alphas. it doesnt bother me too much to search for one, but yeah, it would be nice to have a matching spacebar.

They are pretty nice, had mine for about 5 years but the actual ear piece is a bit mangled so I'm probably going to have to upgrade to the 535's.

Make sure you clean out the sound tunnels a lot, these are a great entry level IEM especially for the price.

Nuclear Data and an Alps keycap from Halverson!

Sadly I am missing my F9 key from Nuclear Data ( I was given two F6 caps) but I'm sure SP will sort it out once I email them.

Of course your set had issues! How could it not? :))

Dang that is one hell of a mail day Jerue!

My wallet may weep, but my fingers may forever gently stroke upon silky surfaces.

I've also seen the light with Cherry profile. No more weird D/SA stuffs for me.

Give me that Alps cap holy ****.

Now now save some for the rest of us :P

Congrats on that dank cap Nick.

Any suggestions on the best way to get the spacebar as close as possible back to the correct color?

Retro-bright.

Yeah, still trying to read up on how to actually do that, as well as where to buy all the items I will need.
Honestly I've had good luck with the 40% creme peroxide you can get at Sally's beauty. I just apply it with a brush, sit it in the sun for an hour, wash, reapply, and repeat 4 or 5 times. The washing and reapplying basically just helps the finished product look even in color.

Okay thanks.  I will give it a try in a few days.

Probably going to use this http://www.amazon.com/Super-Star-Creme-Developer-oz/dp/B00FKVYCHQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447131722&sr=8-1&keywords=40%25+creme+peroxide

Congratulations on your acquisition - about time!
