Sweeet sweet brown alps goodness. This 5140 seems to be in pretty great shape. I guess I'll still be a couple switches off from a full HHKB layout, but it'll do.

Nice.  Really like ZT's, but they are all so damn heavy.  It wasn't until they came out with the ZT 0450 that I actually bought one.

Love my G502 - bought a second one for work and my gf ended up buying one after using mine

When buying my second one I was taken aback at how cheap it was compared to all my keyboard spending

Please don't just take the switches and scrap the rest. If the computer in good shape, switch swap and get it working....or send the unit my way and I'll put Matias switches in it. It pained me to throw my unit away but my machine was in really bad shape and didn't have a power supply.

Glad to see you pickup those Brown Alps though. Definitely a wonderful switch.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What did I get in the mail today? Nothing; post offices are closed.

And my new board and GMK set are at the local post office.  :'(

This.  And I'm leaving to go camping tomorrow probably before our postal person comes (they're always late after a holiday, I guess from the extra packages).  So I won't get my stuff till Sunday I guess.  :-(

I support our veterans, and I've got quite a few in our family.  But did all those postal workers really use their day off to go do something nice for our veterans?
I'm back.
