Giant Steps is such a genial album, coffee's probably OK too. Steaming cup, a little bourbon, just watching the rain patter against the window  hmmm

They feel rather scratchy. You can grab some silicon teflon lube for about $5 at your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Lubing the sliders will take that scratchiness away :)

Had a couple of brown boards over the years, never found them to be scratchy. Is it some problem with the latest batches I wonder?

Out of those two choices, probably Dolch. The grey would mesh with the blue a bit better IMO. You have Olivetti replica?

have a question regarding the GH60...

i noticed the switches for the bottom row are mounted at 90degrees. i wonder how standard keycaps would fit

if im not wrong, the horizontal and vertical axes of the stem have different widths. meaning keycaps can only be mounted the right way/rotated 180degrees and doesnt allow it to be installed at 90degrees

correct me if im wrong  :-X

The stems are centred and keycaps will fit the same in all four directions.

They're 1.25mm on the horizontal and 1.10mm on the vertical. However, I'm still able to fit my caps on at a 90 degree angle, it's just a slightly tighter fit.

The stems are centred and keycaps will fit the same in all four directions.

He means the actual thickness of the axes, not the length. The length is exactly the same.

Standard keycaps are a bit snug on the rotated switches, but I don't think its a problem at all. The only switches that are turned are on the mods anyways I think.

Have you seen the newest revision? It's a few more than that now, but I agree that it's not a problem.

I also made some demands upon ordering it and took some phone pics before work. Enjoy.

it looks like i jumped the gun  :-X

i measured with my caliper only and concluded that since the axes are of different widths, keycaps wont fit.

i just tried fitting the caps on 90degrees and they do fit though u require a little bit more strength to get them on  :D

But now there are none (except the ISO Enter) that are rotated 90 degrees. They are all either 0 or 180.
