Both are pretty difference, honestly I would try Red switches instead. Blacks are pretty stiff and left my fingers feeling sore. And if you have a Razor Blackwidow than might as well try something different!

I own all of them.

Blues: Clicky and slight resistance.
Blacks: No bump or click and stiffness as you press.

Between Black and Blue, Blacks if you are gonna game. Blues are not good for gaming, IMO, while Blacks are perfect and are my preferred gaming switch. You can also do lite typing on Blacks but they are very stiff for that.

Browns: Slight bump with slightly less resistance than Blues.
Reds: No bump or click and very lite stiffness as you press. Essentially liter Blacks.

Between the two, I love both and think they are equal. They are cousins, for sure. Don't let anyone ever say they are the same because they are not. They are similar, though, and both are better for typing than Blacks or Blues.

Browns are better for accurate typing and I think I prefer them for gaming too; Browns felt like slightly less accurate Blacks when I played first-person shooters - a fair compromise when the Browns are so much better for typing than the Blacks - but I did just as well as Blacks with them.

The Reds feel like typing on air or butter, but are also more capable of making mistakes compared to the Browns. With the Browns, I seem to type a little slower because of the bump and, thus, more accurately. But Reds may be more fun to type on and I love them so much. They have a very unique feel. Many people have said they prefer them over Topres. For gaming, they rank below Blacks for me due to their liteness. Which one you'd prefer depends on how stiff you like your keys. But with the Reds, you also get a typing keyboard; Blacks really wear out my fingers when I type on them.

So, I would say either get a Brown or Red. They are both wonderful for gaming and typing, and are probably the best two switches for value out there. Maybe get Reds if you find the Brown's bump in your way. Be aware that both are really lite to press but if you give it time your fingers will adjust.

PS: All these switches do fine for RTSs too, but again, I think I prefer Blacks.

ok thanks for your help!
As I mainly play RTS (SC2 ♥) I'll pick the black one, as it seems to be your favorite one, I'll see if I stick on that one or not :) I loved the typing on my BlackWidow, maybe it's just because I'm used to ^^

some gamers like Blue for gaming instead . Some love black, red, and others.

So final conclusion is , its your personal preferences :) ...

Human got different fingers strength. My friend (a muscular) press easily on Black switches, and he founds blue are too soft for him. Although for me, Blue are perfect for gaming , if you dont mind of they clicky sounds (like old typewriter), then its ok. I found Black too stiff ..

Most people prefer a bump or click for RTSs, as the Black and Reds provide no feedback. For me, I prefer the Blacks because of the smooth movement when moving the camera around. I've tried all the switches on different RTSs and they're all fine, really. I find myself coming back to the Blacks.

it all boils down to personal preferences like someone stated above.  Me, I play a lot of FPS games and prefer black switches over blue.  :)

Most FPS players prefer black over blues as blues you need to release the key before you can press again so for some gamers they are so fast they do not let the key release before pressing again so it does not get registered.

RTS players I would say black or blues is fine, though you do spam a lot of double taps so the blues could have the same problem as above, do note that you do have to spam that double tap really fast for it to not register. Black on the other hand is quite heavy and you having to spam A LOT of keys in a RTS could be a lot tiring compared to a FPS player where his hand is hovering over WASD most of the time.

You might want to look into browns as that's the tactile bump from it is helpful in RTS, light similar to blues except it has no click

This is how I'd rate each keyboard:
80% typing 20% gaming:  Blue (50g force)
60% typing 40% gaming: Brown (45g force)
40% typing 60% gaming: Red (45g force)
20% typing 80% gaming: Black (60g force)

Ultimately comes down to personal preference.  But this can be served as a general guideline.  I personally prefer light switches so I prefer red or brown, they have the same actuation force at 45g.  While brown has the tactile bump and red doesn't, and due to that nature red "feels" lighter.  To me brown feels a bit better for typing while red feels a bit better for gaming.

Though if you're new to the mechanical keyboard world and plays Starcraft 2, I'd suggest you get brown actually.  Brown is generally a safe switch to start with.  Linear switch (Red and Black) takes a bit of getting used to.

Hope this helps :)

EDIT:  Fixed MX Black to 60g force
