srsly....You went from Bose..to monster.

Do some ****ing research and stop buying fashion headphones like a sheep!

Monster headphones are overpriced and provide poor sound quality. they are fashion headphones which are bought by the uninformed masses. you can get the same or better sound quality at a 1/3 of the price.
its not 100% your fault, advertising and ignorance of the masses has mislead you.

for example my denon d2000s are several times better than a pair of beats and are around the same price.

check out sennheiser, akg, grado, denon, Beyerdynamic, audio technica etc etc.

they are all better and at a far lower price. beats tend to sound okay to people used to ****ty headphones. this is probably because of the innacurate and overly powerful bass which they think is the be all and end all.

Bose are also overpriced, but some of their headphones arnt to bad, they are just overpriced for what they are.
beats are overpriced AND have bad sound quality.

You try to be the moron carrying a portable amp & AKG 701s on a NYS Subway.

also go to Headfi.org, the Monster DNA actually are received decently unlike the Beats.

I am surprised that anything other than the turbine pros are rated well with headfi, though. Especially considering places like cnet and what not have them at average at best.

im not convinced, Monster are and always will be a terrible brand. Most sites set the new ones as average. and i really dont set much stock with what head-fi says, theres so much snake oil and misinformation there.

also carrying a small amp extra is hardly a hassle....why not just leave it at home, still will out do the monster cans.

I got the Bose AE2 because they were comfortable and worth it for my commuting music listening.

I tried to use my TF10's for commuting, but didn't like them away from an amp.

fair enough on the open front...but on the whole them getting lost/stolen...you are far more likely to have monster cans nicked off of you. more recognized and looks shiny etc. no ones going to know what the akgs are worth.
