Hmm quite interesting, I never heard of that brand before. Looks like it just came out since it's on preorder. Keep in mind those are MX blacks though, probably the least favorite of the general GH member. If you like MX blacks, that looks like a good price. Probably have to wait until someone here crack one open to see the build quality of it though.

This looks a whole lot like that Chinese board with fake yellow Cherry's.  Especially that orange strip that looks like a fold in the plate.

There's some hints of Engrish on the pic:

Seriously? Come on. It's Amazon, I thought they would only bring over the good stuffs. This one is just an OEM copy of Rapoo's V8 or V something?

Looks to be part of the Genius M1 / Newmen GM-10 / Viewsonic V1 family of keyboards.

I wonder if all of the switches in this one are MX Black, or just some of them. M1 and V1 use a few real MX Black switches in combination with red-stemmed linear clone switches (heavier than real MX Red); GM-10 uses a blue-stemmed clone switch. M1, V1, and GM-10 are among the cheapest mechanical keyboards that I have seen available new on TaoBao, so I wouldn't have high hopes for the quality of this keyboard.

This keyboard is ugly as hell.

But what do I know? I like square corners and beige.

Well, it's clearly marketed at gamers, and anything marketed at gamers is ugly!

Clearly, adding the word 'shogun' to anything renders it vastly better than the un-shogun version.

Yeah, this is an fugly board, but I've seen uglier ones. There's one out there with fins. Way uglier.

Here it is!

Ok, so.... you're so hardcore that your keyboard doubles as a ninja star. Feels like shades of the boombox craze. Tiny, tiny, very ordinary radio in a gigantic-sized, cherried out casing!

This next item has nothing to do with keyboards, but illustrates the target marketing group rather nicely.

Yeah! Take that n00b! (throws keyboard with very sharp edges at the screen)

Interesting keyboard. Looks ugly though.

I actually like the azio mech! Or at least the idea of a removable numpad that can attach on either side of the keyboard.

LOL, I saw an older version of that at a bookstore a while back (in Powell's technical books).  I actually laughed-out-loud.

On the bright side, this keyboard could make an affordable start to someone's mod project... (I'm digging for pluses here).

Or BSG, maybe.

But yeah, the stripes look odd, kinda like the keyboard is supposed to come apart at the join.

On the bright side, this keyboard could make an affordable start to someone's mod project... (I'm digging for pluses here).

Yeah, imagine all the extra gear you could stuff inside that keyboard. When I saw it I pictured those giant boomboxes from the 1980's and 1990's... tiny little speakers inside a giant be-dazzled box. Very SparkleMotion. But yeah, a great place to start modding since you could hand carve the case, screw up, and then still have enough plastic left over for a functional keyboard.

I'd like to see more people work with putting computers inside the keyboards. It's a counter-cultural sort of impulse; everything's headed away from keyboards -- touchscreens, tablet computers, etc. Saw this over at Hack-A-Day:

http://hackaday.com/2012/08/14/turning-a-keyboard-into-a-computer-with-a-raspberry-pi/

I'm sure the guy behind it is a WalletHacker.

Ultimate dream? Take one of those monstrous Terminal keyboards and install that holographic keyboard projector inside it, to display a Fallout 3-style greenlit screen onto a nearby wall. Slow down the refresh rate so that there's a horizontal line scrolling down every few seconds. Yeah, that would be sweet. I'd have to imitate Paris Hilton's voice and say, "That's hawt."

So, imagine fitting two of those guys inside the Terminal keyboard. Sure, you'd have to computer from within a very dark room, and probably not from very far away, but still. Coolness would be off the charts.

(attempts to solder for first time, burns self)

I really shouldn't mock these kinds of massively overbuilt keyboards... I'm tempted to get a 122 IBM Model M Terminal and kludge my way through a Soarer adapter, or just buy a Unicomp version. I want lots of keys. Lots. I imagine myself using all those extra function keys to... I dunno yet, but I'll think of something. One will open Internet Explorer, for sure. 0_o
