This is madness! Getting rid of some stuff is reasonable, but letting go all your KB stuff for biking hobby?

He's right.  Because there is no substitute to real interaction.  We need to be socialized creatures, that means we know what is right and wrong when dealing with real people rather than seeing ONLY type on the screen with no emotion(s) registering.  Hence it would be extremely easy to become an internet Troll, with no concept of decency or conscious sympathy for anyone other than themselves.

I am certainly not suggesting that you demik are in any ways a .......Troll, in fact far from it.

This is madness! Getting rid of some stuff is reasonable, but letting go all your KB stuff for biking hobby?

not just because of that.

today at work, i was dying going up some stairs.

i was disgusted with my self. need to change that.

I can completely understand how you feel. I was grossly overweight for the majority of my life. At the height of my obesity, I weighed around 340 pounds. Climbing a flight of stairs tired me. In the summer of 2010, I started dieting and exercising. I started just by waking. A few miles everyday. I stuck with it and I stuck to my diet. I walked everyday. I started dropping off the weight. After about six months, I started running instead. I consistently increased the amount I'd run every week or two. By summer 2011, I had lost exactly half of my body weight. I went from wearing a size 52 trousers to a size 34, and 3 xl shirts down to medium. I now run seven miles a day or bicycle 23 miles, six days a week or more. I feel better, I'm fit, and girls actually smile at me. It's a good feeling, and I respect and support your decision. Best of luck to you!

that is really awesome man. and huge motivation. i've been getting **** from my boss (cyclist fanatic) about my weight and my age. my father's family has diabetes, and i don't want to be another one. im too young to be feeling like **** over a few lousy stairs. if my keyboard addiction has to suffer for my health to get better, so be it.

there's really no reason to spend more than 6-800 on a bike. your basic allez does the job

the bigger problem is that biking in LA is a gigantic *****

If you tell me that you are going to stop eating mole, gorditas, tacos and all that nice Mexican food. I wont believe you ;-)

i did, during my few months of muay thai training.

it was hard, but damn waking up feeling good was worth it.

What's crazy is that I can eat more than when I did when I was fat. When I eat at a buffet, people I go with get tired of watching me eat. It appears that when you get to a certain level of cardio fitness, your metabolism is so much higher and you burn so many calories on a daily basis, you are almost always hungry.

ow if a bianchi decides to be at an awesome price i wont say no to it. but chances are, it won't.

Find a late 90's or early 2000's Italian made bianchi that someone bought and never really used. Its easy to find one of those with a reynold's steel frame and campy components still in great shape. A bike like this is much nicer than a similar priced new trek/can/giant/etc one with low end components built to last not more than a couple years. If you take care of it, the frame will pretty much last forever.
