That ebony spacebar is beautiful! You should consider making and selling these. (Sadly I use cherry brand boards that have off-center spacebar, so these would be incompatible...)

Is it possible for you to give some tips on how you made those? My room-mate is into woodworking and wants to make me some caps, but isn't sure about how to go about it. Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I "kinda" think I understand what he meant... Google translate has never been very good, but the key words usually get enough of the point across.

Nice! It would be amazing to see what it looks like if you were to make every key and maybe even the casing.

so they are made with CNC, I guess. it must take like 1 hour to mill just one.

Processing is not the end
Sanding, oiling / / this is more time and effort is needed
Think is most important to Finishings

I bet it's a hard work. Congrats, they look great!

I am toying with the idea of making wooden keycaps myself, I have access to a CNC milling machine... Are you willing to share the 3D models?

Very nice.  If combined with a wooden case - wow!

The description of how it is done also looks a bit like haiku, but with an alternative number of syllables.  Sounds so cool :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Search the web caches to find an old copy of this page yourself then. I already tried a few and couldn't find one old enough for the pics to still be there.
