WTB a Raspberry Pi Model B
« on: Sun, 09 September 2012, 18:02:38 »
Just wondering if anyone around here had a Model B raspberry pi they would be willing to part with. I'm located in Canada, so shipping from USA would have to be factored most likely.
There are quite a few on eBay, but I don't feel like paying the marked up fees.

So send me a pm if you can help me out, thanks!

I had one preorderd from RS.  They quoted me 11 weeks then sent an email that they would be late by at least another month.  F that.  Newark has them in stock right now.  I canceled my preorder.

Try element14/newark  they had them in stock last week.

I was thinking about buying one from Element 14 soon and I'm pretty sure that you can order two or more now. Would you be interested in my proxying one for you?

Let me check how much to ship to Canada, then I'll let you know! Thanks Beast

Ended up being able to get one from them for $35 with shipping! Well that worked out well.

Make sure you get a proper power supply. I've heard a lot of the issues are people using phone chargers that dip below min power requirements

Congrats on your new Raspberry Pi. I was lucky enough to get one from jdcarpe in the mail one day, and I've been playing with it ever since. I bought myself a Pibow case for it, but I don't know when it will get to me.

I am using the power supply from one my Kindles for the raspberry pi, and that seems to work well :).

I just got my Pibow in the mail Friday. It's a really cool looking case, and the Pi doesn't wobble around in there like it does in some of the cases (ModMyPi). I ordered mine the day they were featured on the Pi blog page, I think.

Any power supply rated at or over 1A should be good, but you probably want to check that it's actually outputting that current with a meter to be sure.
