filco Camouflage or yellowtop?
« on: Wed, 26 September 2012, 19:47:01 »
Thinking of adding one filco tenkeyless, not sure go for Camouflage or yellowtop. I got Ninja already.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Whatever colorscheme you like better, choose that one.

Yellowtop :)

(my favourite colour)

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Know that the camouflage has a function key where the left windows key is normally.  It's hardwired and can't be overwritten to my knowledge.  Doesn't matter for most, but just in case.  (Like, if you plug it into a Mac, you don't have an option key, which is kind of important.)

Thanks.

I do like the yellowtop keycap. I am wondering if the case is the exactly the same as a normal Majestouch 2. If so, I think Camouflage is a better buy because I can always buy keycaps, but not cases.

Should be identical.  The camo is my daily driver actually... I love it.  But, it is hard to find caps that match great with it.

I'm currently using these, but kind of messy.  Might be better off getting a black or cream if you want to play with a wide variety of key cap colors.

I vote for yellow version.  Maybe because I was never a big fan of camo.  It's a bit too gamer / not elegant looking.

As for the yellow one the case is exactly the same except you get gold filco logo also yellow LED indicators.

I quite like the look of the camo Filco, especially with the colour-coordinated cable and WASD keys (plus a khaki CC if you have one).  But I would still prefer the yellow (and have one on order).
