Sure! First you have to take the cover off. There's only one screw at the bottom, underneath the white warranty sticker. Then I used an old gift/credit card to slide under the front and rear edges to separate the cover from the base.
I think the paint job is done in three phases. Base coat (either black or gray), then logos, then clear rubberized coating on top.
I started with a pad of Scotch-Brite. I found it worked a little better than sandpaper to rub off the rubberized coating. You might want to do this outside cause rubber flakes will be floating everywhere.
Then I went with (I think) a 600-grit wet/dry sandpaper to take off the logos and base coat. I just dipped the entire cover in tub of water to keep it constantly wet.
After getting all the paint off, I started standing the plastic in one direction for all the surfaces I wanted to look brushed. I eventually moved on to finer sandpaper until the scratches looked the way I wanted.
