« on: Thu, 06 December 2012, 23:35:39 »
My SteelSeries 6GV2 (with Cherry MX Red Switches) just arrived today and I am beyond excited. Just finished installing my O-rings and I am going to go put this baby to work! Pictures on the way this weekend. ^_^

Excellent!  Congratulations :)

If you've got reds already, try something else.

Blacks are good :)

Or greens, if you can (and don't mind the extra clicking).

Man if you like reds, you will hate greens.  Pretty much the complete opposite.  Heavy, tactile, and clicky.  Will feel like every key-press is fighting you.

Sounds like someone's successfully joined the club! It starts with "I'll just get this one keyboard..." and inevitably escalates very quickly from there. Welcome! :)

they will feel really heavy after reds. you'd better get a pcb board with clears and mod them ergo.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

These guys are are so right....I bought my first mechanical 6 months ago (Razer Blackwidow) and decided that it was time to upgrade. Besides, it's Christmas time right? So I bought a Filco Majestouch and a keycap set. And then I saw pictures of those KMAC boards and was drooling over them.

My point is, mechanical keyboards are apparently ultra-addicting and I've opened a can of Pringles. I can't stop lol.

Anyways, congrats on your first. Can't wait to see you posting pics of some customs in 6 months haha.

Yeah can't wait to get another keyboard, and some more novelty keycaps XD
Well in the mean time, I'll upload my EXTREMELY DELAYED photos of my new SteelSeries 6GV2 (Red Switch).
I added some o-rings to dampen the sound as well as a red esc key.

Also have some extra soft-landing pads that I'm going to use on my next keyboard.
