Oh man! I only have 33 posts before this one. I cannot in good conscience spam the board prior to the 23rd. Good luck everyone!

Oh and my favorite number is 46. Add a GG to that and maybe you'll know why. They're my best assets. ;P

this thread is full of win. not doing it for the clack, so I'm not following the rules - I have two favorite numbers, 1s and 0s.

Congratulation to oneproduct, wish your family condition improves.
though you sounded your family are in difficult position, you have an impressive collections of keyboards!
in your "clack winning" post you mention your mom had depression and retired,
and you do not have much of money at the moment, since you just graduated from collage recently,
what of your father? is he still with you and does he have any part to play in the family?

If there is no one else to bear the weight of the family livings,
maybe its time for you and your brother to stand up and support the family.
if it's not today, maybe it's not tomorrow, but one of those day, the burden will rest on your shoulder.
when that day comes, I wish you are ready to be the man that life need you to be.
Until then, enjoy your win and your Clack :)

My dad was actually laid off from his job this year. He's 62 though so he was close to retiring age. His hobby has always been gardening and landscaping so he's doing a little business of his own following that. Right now he's making Christmas wreaths and other decorations and selling them to a few local stores, mostly restaurants which like to dress up to attract customers. My mom has a fairly good pension since she worked at the same big company since the day she finished college. My dad on the other hand has nothing and he lost a lot of money a long time ago when the Nortel stocks lost their value.

I worked for two years between high school and college to save up money to go to school without having to work at the same time. I also didn't mind having a little break between them, but I'm glad that I went back. I actually got into mechanical keyboards because of school, where I did some transcription work for a deaf student. Most of the keyboards that I got during my school time were from trading Magic the Gathering cards. I traded them for a TG3, a Das, a Cherry G80 with reds, 4 Topre 87U silents, an SSK, a few trackballs and a bit of cash. I then ended up selling many of those for money in the classifieds here on geekhack (it was easier to do trades for spare keyboards that people have and don't want than for money and then find somebody else who wants to buy that stuff later). If it wasn't for that I'd probably have a lot less keyboard related stuff.

But anyways, I don't want people to worry about me or anything, at least not financially. We're doing fine and my brother and I both finished college this year so we're both working now and can help support everyone if needed. At the moment we're both still living at home and one of our grandmothers lives with us too. We're a pretty tight knit family and my brother is like my best friend. We have lots of the same hobbies and never argue with each other.

Edit: I've also been spared from wallethack because I use the Colemak layout so I'm immune to temptation from Qwerty key set group buys! I use to participate in the novelty key group buys, but they're usually pretty cheap and I've even stopped going for those too now.

Glad to know that you are doing fine you and your family, wish every things get even better for you.
I was a magic player before, boosters and cards comes in premium price back in my days because we have to import them from US,
the local price for boosters been the same here for the last 15 years, but since the living standards raised a lot since, mean it is becoming more affordable now days.
but the cards that I own even now, are phased out, and those cards doesn't worth much now,
you have good prediction to letting go of the cards you have in good time. :)
