Somebody should build a massively multi-processor system with all of these refurb Celerons.

Except Celerons don't support multi-processor...

I'm both sad and happy I didn't get this deal. I would've used the switches on my Phantom in the future!

I'm glad that some people were able to take advantage of this deal!

Hey guys just a reminder anyone who is just harvesting the switches I am interested in buying the board without switches or key caps. I want to try transplanting some vintage blacks from a terminal board

WT, when I get a chance to harvest some of these switches, I'll send you the rest. Just cover the shipping. I have three of these waiting to be desoldered now. I'm keeping one to use at work. :D

I appreciate that jd. Just got a desoldering iron about to start pulling some switches off those wyse boards. Is it time intensive? I haven't done much desoldering. I did get an iron with the built in bulb thingy. I don't do enough rework to justify a nice one

Are you going to actually use yours?  If so I would like to know how long it lasts.  If it can survive more than 90 days.

Just a reminder, if anyone doesn't want their keycaps I am looking for a couple of sets of cheap keycaps to glue things on top of, for medical experiments to reduce my handpain.

Or, we could use them as keyboard controllers!

Might overheat (because celerons were ****)
I think I read somewhere that you can underclock/undervolt them pretty low though. I think it's got enough IO pins to support switches and RGBLED's on (say) a custom model M flex PCB. Just need to find somenoe who knows how to write some i386 code for it :p

Would anyone who got one of these be willing to part with just the keycaps? I'd be happy to cover the cost of shipping. I need some cheap key caps for my Das Ultimate at work so my company is more ok with me having expensed it. :)

Also if anyone has a few spare reds, let me know. I am intending on replacing the browns in the arrow keys with reds. :)

My future Das Ultimate S, all modded up. For now, it's a bit more black.

i finally got my board in and i have to say it is a pretty solid board, i was expecting a cheap crap board but other than the logo i actually like it

This is my first cherry MX board with a plate

i was going to originally harvest this board for springs and switches, but i actually found that to be unnecessary for now

i think instead i am going to de-solder most of the switches, lube them, put them back in and then put these KBC white pbt keys i have on it with o rings, should come out nicely, i can use it for gaming

gotta figure out how to cover the damn logo though......

So your USB connector is solid?

Mine was wobbly right out of the box but it worked perfectly.  Broke 26 days later.

delivered yesterday, picked it up today.  i have to say, i wasn't sure if i would like reds, but i think i do like them since they make it easier to just touch and go, whereas with browns you're more likely to bottom out since you have to push down a bit more if you want to be certain you actuate the switch.

Yeah, very surprised as well. I've gone through like a grand worth of keyboards, parts, and equipment since I entered the hobby 7-8 months ago.. who knew that one on sale for $25 could be so satisfying.

That said, I may gift it to my brother or my girlfriend after I finish building some other stuff.

I thought mine was nice when I bought it for $60. I got the blue switches. I'm butt hurt over missing this one... but yeah, my board is holding up so far. And since it's my first mechanical it feels miles above the dome boards i was used to

I can't wait to get these keycaps! After putting them on my ultimate I'll have a whole set of blank keys I can try making some design prototypes with. :)

Plus there's a few hackerspaces near me that have some cool machines (laser cutting/etching)

I got the keys, and added them for the letters used in the keyboard shortcuts I use while programming. :)

Eventually I'll letter up the whole keyboard (before someone else inherits it), but for now I'm happy with it like this.

I doubt they will sell it for what they paid for it, same board is back at $80 on newegg if not more

I understand as much, but I am poor and hoping for a kind person. I'm not expecting anyone to sell me their keyboard for what they paid for it, but if they want to out of kindness, I'm simply saying I'd buy it.

remedyhalopc, I'll keep you in mind, and if I stop using the Rosewill I'll sell it to you for the same price I got it.

But at that price, the switches alone are worth more than the cost of the board. Even if someone didn't want the board, they would probably desolder all the switches for other projects.

well i use my redswitches for the gh60 and a poker (have to buy some more or combine some with the blues from my blackwidow)

basically the rosewill will get a bunch of different switches and end up as a test board for all kinds of switches.
