CC takes custom orders and they are $200 per keycap.

1. Would you order one at this price?

2. What would you get?

Keep in mind this is just for fun and I have no affiliation with the Clackfactory or CC himself. I am just a fan and a dreamer.

No thread in particular, but check out this Alumilite How To website, they have plenty of videos on casting your own parts, they make it look too easy

I probably won't buy any ClackClack keycap, I'm more plain style and less ornament.  Though for a one off, the price isn't out of the way... perhaps a hot coal and ice cube pair?

No thread in particular, but check out this Alumilite How To website, they have plenty of videos on casting your own parts, they make it look too easy

I must tell you that I made some molds and keycaps about a year ago and it was a pain in the ass. There were many mess ups before I got to an acceptable product. The stuff makes a freaking mess as well. Also after about a year with one of my keys it has been slightly discolored from use.

We have had many DIY threads regarding this, but to be honest I don't think anyone has come close to matching CC's quality (materials/art). I can't comment on brobots cause I don't have one yet, but they look pretty damn good too.

To produce sthg decent and bubble free you need at least a compressor and a pressure pot and all the raw material (silicon,resin...) ... Around 250 bucks if you are cheap, it does still worth it if you are creative imho

I would love to know how to do this.
Eventually I'd like to also know how to do metal casting (for like jewlery), metal working (sculpture), and blacksmithing (SWORDS). There was a really cool video some google employee posted which has made me realize blacksmithing is probably the least likely of those skills for me to learn. It would be such a huge time investment.

1. No. Way too much money for a single key. Maybe if it was like titanium or something. I'd probably pay a lot for a solid titanium CC.
2. If I were to do it, I'd want a flat black key, with gold accents. Like only certain features of the skull would be highlighted in a metallic gold.
