Creative people always surprise us somehow. Like this aluminum base, it's not complicated at all, but this guy who is kinda new in the keybord community made it real.

This was originally designed as a keychain, but it turned out the string doesn't fit well on the aluminum base. So the producer decided to present this aluminum base as a little toy just for fun.

Each aluminum base includes a white LED and a MX switch. There's a button cell battery inside the base which supports the LED to light up. Whenever you press the key, the LED would light up. The battery can last about 2 days if you keep pressing it. Obviously no one would do so. So basically it would last months if you just play with it sometimes. However, it's quite easy to change the button cell battery by yourself. You can simply use your hand to take out the switch.

Also, each base would come with a clear R4 keycap.

Four switches available: Red, Brown, Black, and Blue.

I'll stop taking orders on February 10th.

This could be cool. The black one (or a heavier switch) could be used as a stress reliever, and the blue one could be used to make people mad! I'd have to think about it, considering i'm short on money right now, but it would be kinda cool.

How easy is it to take it apart to access and replace the battery? I hope you can somehow pull the assembly out of the top.

I haven't shipped out the international orders yet because the people in the post office said I can't ship a package with any battery inside, even though it's just button battery.

I'm still thinking of someway to work this out, if I still can't ship them, I might have to remove the batteries inside the aluminum base in order to get them shipped. The battery itself is actually quite cheap and easy to buy.

The guy STILL asked her if they contained lithium batteries.

It took her a few moments to understand what he could possibly mean, then she just said 'no. it is honey.'

To answer your question from Fengs OP:

So no, the keycap never came with.

That being said. If anyone has an extra one of these I'd surely like to purchase it for the price you got it for. PM me!
