French layout (AZERTY) Where to buy ?
« on: Sun, 10 February 2013, 09:40:47 »
Good morning dear gentlemens, I am french and I'd like to know where to get  a French layout for my new keyboard, the CM Storm Quickfire TK. I bought it in the US because I wanted the MX Blue version, not available here in France. As you probably know, it's a backlit keyboard and I'd like to know if it is possible to find a backlit compatible layout (108 keys), if not, maybe just a good set of keys (AZERTY of course).
Thank you all in advance, and I'll catch you later :-)

FR keycaps are kind of hard to come by. Your best bet would be to hunt ebays for something like a G80/G81-3000H*F or H**FR. Alternately if that is too much work, or you don't like the style the other best option would probably be wasdkeyboards, you will have to use the custom editor.

Yeah the wasdkeyboards editor is a lil complicated, but I will try it out, thank you ;-)

Yes, it might still be finicky with some charachter, I am not sure if they resolved that as I haven't tried it in a long time but there are the layout files at the bottom to if you want to create it in Ai or whatever. Actaully if you have access to that way I would suggest as you can choose some other more interesting font.

maybe something to start with is the G81-1901HAF (French layout) which has been up at clicky keyboards for quite a long time now

I thought they had all sold out (pretty sure they were last time I looked). I would go with that for sure. You can't beat Cherry keys for quality.

yea not sure. I just assumed they were available as they are still listed on the web page and you can add it to your card and get to the point of paying in the checkout process

Just to be sure, the keyboard you just bought is already ISO layout?

Perhaps they just found some more? I am positive the Italian one was marked as out of stock last time I looked at what they have, and that is available 1 now too.
