I can do Filco 87 + 104 :D

but CM keyboard I don't have any to test case :(
they sell CM TKL cases here but only the top.... do you need the both the top and bottom cases? because if you can do only with the top part, maeby we can have a GB and we supply the top cases from here if they are not available in Vietnam.

If available in Vietnam, you add the cost for the cases in the group buy, and lets do both CM Rapid and CM XT 104. Sounds good? Make it a GB for everybody, people with Filcos, CM, Rosewill's..... It wont be easy but you can make some dinero!!!

I know can buy a top case from CM... but if I think it can't mount on acrylic case.

I can do filco because I have one 87 and one 104, about CM keyboard or another I can't promise anything.

Is this case similar at all to the stock case? I like how the stock case is basically just a tray for it to sit in and the keys look like they are floating. Can we get some pictures of a keyboard with keycaps on in the case? Thankyou!

So, I have a couple of GH60 PCBs and plates ordered. You say you can use a metal plate with the case. Can you show pics or explain because I am not understanding that if your case has a switch plate and I also have a metal plate, how does this work?

Thanks,
John

When you say Poker = only centered Caps, you only mean regular Poker I hope? Because one of the 2 cases I ordered is for "GH60 Poker" layout, which of course supports off-centered Caps, so the plate for "GH60 Poker" needs to support it as well.

thx u

More confusion ..... if there is a difference between "poker" and "GH60 Poker" and you are using a text box, as opposed to radio buttons or a drop down dialog box to clarify the options precisely, on your entry form you are going to have MANY folks possibly not getting what they really needed or wanted. You need to clarify. I am not sure I ordered properly now. I ordered four cases, 1 poker, 2 ansi 1.5's and an hhkb. Do I need to distinguish between poker and gh60 poker and exactly what is the difference?

Thanks,
John

I think the language barrier is the issue.

If you order a Poker layout, that's exactly what you'll get, with the only option for Caps Lock being center-stemmed.

If you order a GH60-Poker layout, it's the same, except that the hole in the plate for the Caps Lock position is stretched, so that you can use either caps lock position (supported by the PCB).

I'm sorry to clutter up this thread with another question!  Not surprisingly, it's GH-60 related.

On the new order form, there are two acrylic plate options:  openable and non-openable.
Given that I don't want to mod these switches (building it as a gift), should I choose the non-openable plate?

Also, does using the acrylic plate mean I should get plate-mounted instead of PCB-mounted switches?

What's the point of having 2 switch hole option? Just make them all openable. If someone doesn't want to open up a switch, then they don't have to, but at least they'll have the option to do that later in the future if it ever comes to that.

alixinhzai, I'll add this case to the OP of GH60 as well.

Personally, I did not get the openable switch plates. I have had issues with the top of the switch coming off when removing tight caps. I like how the fixed plates fits tighter against the side of the switch and doesn't allow the four "latches" to expand as easily and allow the top to come off.

Then I guess you won't like any PCB mounted keyboard. I've never encountered that problem you explain, you have to make brute force to remove the top of the switch.

So does a metal plate take the place of the acrylic plate? Or, does the metal plate sit on top of the acrylic plate?

The plate is on top of the acrylic in the pic. The high end A.87 acrylic cases made by GON, a korean builder, have a 5mm acrylic switch plate. This esentiallyt takes up all of the space on the bottom of the switch, meaning the pcb sits right against the bottom side of the acrylic switch plate, just like the ergodox. These cases here have a 3mm switch plate meaning there is 2mm available for the metaal plate to sit on top of the acryluc plate. This should make for a very rigid setup although if this is in fact the case the keys will sit 2mm higher when using the metal plate. If the metal plate were on the underside of the acrylic the height difference would not exist.

At least that is the way I see things.

John

So is this going to take a special plate then? Seems to me that if I'm using The_Beast's plate, then there isn't any extra room for the acrylic. Unless I'm completely off-base, or missing something.

I don't see how they can sit any higher with a plate on top versus under. Don't they have to be flush against the PCB both ways to be soldered on?

Without the metal plate the switch sits on top of the acrylic which is, lets say 3mm down from the top of the case. This would have a 2mm gap between the bottom of the acrylic plate and the top of the pcb since the bottom half of the switch is 5mm. If you add a 2mm metal plate on top of the acrylic plate the switch moves up 2mm relative to the top of the case meaning it is now 1mm from the top of the csse down to where the switch sits and also, the pcb moves up 2mm and sits against the bottom of the acrylic plate.

I may be wrong. This is all just my interpertation but the bottom of the switch is 5mm. The acryluc plate is 3mm and beasts plate is ~2mm. You can add beasts plate on top of the acrylic it just moves the switch and pcb up 2mm.

Lets see what the maker says when he responds.

I may be wrong. This is all just my interpertation but the bottom of the switch is 5mm. The acryluc plate is 3mm and beasts plate is ~2mm. You can add beasts plate on top of the acrylic it just moves the switch and pcb up 2mm.

Lets see what the maker says when he responds.

exactly :) My plate with one 3mm and one 2mm :) If u want use metal plate, take out 2mm on top and replace metal plate in :D
So, my understanding was correct except for the fact that your 3mm acrylic switch plate also has a 2mm "spacer"plate on top of it which can be replaced by a metal plate and the height of the switches actually will not change. Also meaning that even without the metal plate the pcb will sit against the bottom of the 3mm acrylic switch plate.
