Why the not $10 price you may ask? I'm using these betas to help fund costs for upfront materials (screws, drill bits, various tools)

SO. for this first round, this is what errything costed

Topre Switches: $6 (I'm not sure if that's what they actually cost, I'm probably making that up)

Acrylic: $7 ($4 for a crap-sheet that didnt work + $3 commission for my laser guy)

$60/3 = $20 + shipping or w/e

I feel $25 shipped Priority Mail (Anywhere in the globe, because I love you int'l ppls <3) isn't TOO bad of a price :s

NOW. Onto how this silly sale will work! It will be a raffle, because I don't want an auction, and I don't want it to be first-come-first-serve.

What I'm going to do is raffle two of them off, based off a randomly chosen post somewhere in this thread (assuming someone posts) and one more away for whoever can guess my second favorite number (Hint: 8 is the first favorite). Also with the raffle thing, only your first post will count, if you post twice, and your second post 'wins' the winner will be the next post that is someones first post. Does that make sense?

Also, obviously you can't win the number guess and the raffle

just a suggestion, possible to make it with a slightly longer acrylic base so a hole could be drilled there to hold a more stable keyring?

too often have I gotten keychains like the ones like the ones you're selling now and they slip off a little too easy ;(

Hmm. I see no reason why I couldn't do custom runs of chains like that.

Although, I don't see how they can slip off? but hey, more options is more better!

current version I don't think you can put a big keyring on or can you? with the white acrylic the extra part that extends out looks like it can snap a lot easier then lets say a keyring inside a hole of an extended base like the one from RF

also the clear base acrylic one you have in the OP doesn't look like it has a keychain hole slot (clear acrylic looks more awesome btw)

ahha yes. We had to do a bunch of prototypes to find a balance between "thick-enough-to-not-snap-when-you-look-at-it-wrong" and "thin-enough-so-the-clamps-I-have-can-actually-fit" Honestly this acrylic is pretty sturdy but I can see why the alternate plate you pictured wouldn't work.

The clear acrylic one is from MrInterface (should have mentioned that ) )

The final versions will be clear acrylic, these prototypes are white acrylic because I bought the wrong kind of plexi, so instead of cutting it, the laser just lit it on fire, this white pleix was just scrap he had lying around.

I was led to believe 45g, however I just put weights on each switch and all three of them didn't bottom out until 50g was applied. so your guess is as good as mine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm dying to get one too.. I'd order a HHKB off amazon, try it out and return it if i could, but they don't stock them in the UK. I don't want to do with with the realforces from the keyboard co either since I'm not sure the returns would be so easy.

Hopefully I'll get a new batch of switches in this upcoming week, do another Prototype run of 3 more (how many white pieces I have left) to ensure my bits and drills and screws are up to par for full-scale production.

Round 2 prototypes, pretty much the exact same as Round 1, damn bit is still too small..... I'm hoping clear acrylic is more forgiving than this white stuff.

Updates: The third winner has not reponded in a week, so I guess they lose their spot in line, which is good, because now we have 3 and a half testers to give out, why a half? well the Insert chain is pretty bad :/ I was kinda sleepy when I put these together, so I put it sideways by accident, and in putting it sideways, the hole for the screw was too close to the edge and caused a crack in the acrylic. So whoever is 4th chosen, it's your call if you want to buy the half-chain or not, it still has a pretty decent hold on the other side, but who knows how long it'll last before it fails catastrophically.
