HPE 87 Keycap Replacements (37key and 87key)
« on: Fri, 08 March 2013, 02:37:36 »
Hi,

Can anybody tell me where I can find replacement key caps in either 37 key set, or 87 key set for my HPE 87 board?

I'm kinda worried that the keycap replacement set won't match the same height as the original keycap set.

How do I know which ones will match the same height as my originals?

I would like to replace it with lettered, colored key caps.

Thanks.

Here's a picture, which isn't mine.

Yes, it would have 'oem' profile keycap. Also set like this, this or this depending on what style you are after.

I'd suggest you go for a complete set for your peace of mind.
The originals are "OEM" profile. AFAIK that means just that they're taller than Cherry profile.
That's not a lot of information :)

I bought a set of standard, white, cherry profile pbts from feng and they're just fine. HPE-87 is a Filco clone.

You mean like an 87 key set?

Which sets out there will fit this HPE 87 (considering all the costar stabilizers etc.)???

Thanks.

As far as I am aware the HPE has nothing atypical about it. Any 87/104 MX set will work fine.

Yea this was most likely a copied filco design. They are probably very similar, but if your going for quality you cant really beat paying the extra money for the filco. Oh and personally I hate the logo above the arrow keys.
