Keyboard problem. Is my switch failing?
« on: Sat, 16 March 2013, 22:43:29 »
I tried to search around for my answer but since I'm not sure what this problem is even called I haven't found what I am looking for.
I am hoping someone here can tell me what I can do to fix my keyboard issue. I have had my keyboard less then a year. http://www.deckkeyboards.com/product_info.php?products_id=54

I have one key on my keyboard that seems to give me extra presses after I hit it one time. The key that I am having issues with is my "O" key. When I type it will insert more than just one "O" in my words as I type. For example if I type going it can come out like gooing or goioong and such things like that. I typical get 0-2 extra "O"s in the things I type.

Is there a name for this problem I'm experiencing? How do I fix it?

Thanks!

Yup, it's called chattering.  You can try to blow compressed air into the switch, to see if that fixes it.  If not, you are probably looking at a switch replacement.

You can also try this for a software fix: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/hardware-clinic-knowledge-base-33/%5Bguide%5D-keyboard-chattering-fix-normal-users-3271513.html
