Its premade, but I think it has sufficient slots to fit a tsangan too?

If you look carefully the display set have those 1.5x mods and a couple of 1.25x mods and space for 2 sized spacebars ;D

I see what you mean. I didn't pay much attention because of that giant logo over it, but yes, it does seem there is sufficient room.

To anyone who has ever had a box such as this: is the entire bottom piece one piece of cardboard? Or is there only cardboard pieces under each slot? I'm wondering how possible it may be to modify one of these to possibly include more keys if necessary.

Also, depending on the timeframe of how this GB runs through, I would definitely be interested on being in for some boxes.

We really need to get a good estimate of how much they are gonna cost shipped to our door.

Also, are they pre-assembled? If they are pre-assembled there is a serious risk of them getting smashed, and shipping will obviously be a lot higher.

They will be shipped pre-assemble. Not pre-assembled :))

Shipping is looking favourable with these few quotes I got, but still waiting for some others to reply......

You're confusing me... Pre-assembled means they are already assembled into boxes, disassembled means they are still in separate cardboard pieces. Does your "pre-assemble" = "disassembled" or "pre-assembled"?

The description says this box can hold two sets of 104 keycaps each. Do you guys really have so many sets of keycaps or do you think each box can only hold one set. Maybe I just underestimate # of sets GHers have but 20-30 sets? That's a lot. :eek:

And I plan on storing different novelty sets in these. Not to fill of course, just to organize them more. The grocery bag they fill now is dreadful.

just my 2cents but the keycap boxes at KBD have a much better looking layout for picture taking of the caps in the box. these ones from taobao the set just looks odd

picture from zenuty @KBD


one would think you could bribe one of our members with autocad to make the format for the inner piece and get these done in a single set sized box in the US for cheaper. Or if not cheaper, same cost and make it a GH thingy...

I like this box layout a lot better. Also more love for ISO.

mashby, not trying to de-rail your thread, but just throwing ideas out there seeing as it as just an IC still

so lets say the KBD box is 19" x 12" x 2.5" as that is a size I found that sells for like $1 in low quantity before shipping.
I'm guessing the inner part is 2 pieces glued together (1 with cutouts and the other not). I'll make up a number and say it costs $1.5 for this part
which makes the made up cost of a 2 keycap set box with our own layout $4 ($1box + $1.5bottom-set + $1.5top-set)

^^^remember I just made this number up. but it seems possible after just looking at a single box maker located in my state...

So Shadovved talked with the TaoBao person selling the two set boxes and found them to be a bit of a con artist. So he's ordered a couple of boxes and he's looking at having them custom create new boxes. He said that they will be only 1 key cap set per box, not two and he thinks we can get them for under $2 a box.

Right now we're in a bit of a waiting phase as he gets quote back on having the boxes made, etc. So, if someone can get an Illustrator, or CAD file for the key cap template, bring it on!

Also, this is an IC, so I appreciate any and all feedback. So, thank you InLikeFlynn, keep it coming!

Lemme see what I can do, that taobao seller is offering quite an insane price......we might be able to get the boxes shipped to the US at around 4-5 (excluding local USPS shipping, probably)

No finalised quotes until I can get some samples posted to the manufacturer......unless there are violent objections to that box layout I would be going with that prolly, cos there are samples they can copy directly, makes their life and my life easier :))

Hm, contacted QWER, they dont have 104 sized boxes, the boxes they said are coming are those long white boxes and square black ones........................

So, lets stick to the original plan? :cool:

But I have asked them for quotes on this as well, so lets see if its good to add it inside our subsequent GB.
