Damn I was hoping it'd be in a mall so we could attract random people again :P. Thanks prdlm2009 :D.

MIDWEST GEEKHACKERS, COME HANG OUT WITH US.

Just bring a keyboard or two down to the bar/restaurant and that will get a conversation going.

Yes.  Oddly enough, all other keyboards feel puny to me now.  That or the Maltron always is a great conversation starter.

I updated the OP with some specific information.  The venue also has some hotel rooms, if you wish to spend the night, and it only a mile or two from downtown, which has thousands of hotel rooms.

prdlm2009 do you need help setting anything up? I can arrive a little early if you do need help. And it'd be cool if we could get more confirmations on who is planning on showing up.

Thanks, but not really.  I think the venue will take care of things.  Unfortunately, there will not be any AV equipment because getting that extra perk was a little pricey.

Yea, definitely happening.  I was going to update with some photos and such, maybe take suggestions if anybody wants to do a presentation or two.  I was thinking of throw together a slideshow of how to refurb and bolt mod a Model M.  And maybe something on this Model F refurb that I'm doing.   This thing was like a rusty, stale dustball when I got it in the mail, and I'm hoping it will look like a smooth running sports car when I'm done.

I'm bringing my visible model m! Also, if you haven't started sanding the rust off yet, or if it's not behaving, you're more than welcome to let it soak in my tub of citric acid. I've been getting great results with basically zero effort.

Tub of citric acid?  Great results with zero effort?  Sounds like a great method!

You should!

FYI, I am on vacation this week and away from my computer, so I will not have much opportunity to check in.  All I've got is my cell phone.  Sorry bout that.

Unfortunately, it's a Saturday that I work, or I'd come and bring my whole collection with me

I'll go to a meetup sometime! Enjoy this one for me!

Had a great time guys, thanks for coming!  We ended up having a small time affair with Phosphorglow, cptbadass, ninja doc and Hubbert.  A few of us took pictures, and Phosphorglow brought some interesting Model M's.    Very interesting.  Dinner followed at a Peruvian restaurant.  That also was delicious.

I've processed all the pictures :D. As usual, there's no people pictures. Don't blame me. People are shy :D Album can be found here.

Some of my favorite pics are below:

So when prdlm2009 put in the reservations, the easiest thing to tell the building is that our group was a Vintage Computer Club. Awwww yeahhhh. I had to have the signs the venue put up!

One of the diners asked us if we were in town for the NCAA basketball tournament games. Hubbert response was, "NO BETTER! We're keyboard enthusiasts!!" #SwitchLife

Phosphorglow's "Visual Model M". Yes it works, yes it's mounted on acrylic, yes I loved it.

We went here and ordered:

I really should start and Instagram so I can post more food pictures. And #selfies.
