Here's sequences you can try:

1 2 3 4 7 8 9 0 F10 F11 F12 PrtScn PgDown End

q w e r u i o p Num7 Num8 Num9 Num+ ScrlLock

a s d f j k l ; Num1 Num2 Num3 NumEnter Num* Num/ NumLock

Here's sequences you can try:

1 2 3 4 7 8 9 0 F10 F11 F12 PrtScn PgDown End - All

q w e r u i o p Num7 Num8 Num9 Num+ ScrlLock - All

a s d f j k l ; Num1 Num2 Num3 NumEnter Num* Num/ NumLock - up to NumEnter

That was tougher to do than you might imagine...

So you got all 14 keys to register at once on the first sequence and 13 at once on the second?

Note in the second sequence, the 14th key would have been the hidden barrel under backspace.

The last sequence I might have screwed up the keys...

Yeah, the first two registered all. The last one only registered NumEnter. Anything after that didn't register.

What are you trying for, if I may ask? My curiosity has been piqued.

What are you trying for, if I may ask? My curiosity has been piqued.

I want to see how many simultaneous keypresses the controller will handle.   Looking at the membrane the maximum number of pads I see on a trace is 15, most have 14 or fewer. But I suspect if there were one with 16 you'd be able to get 16 keys to register at once.

Now I'm also wondering why the USB converters I've tried limit to 6 or less.   Suppose it's reasonable, wondering about the technical limitations.

Does that include Soarer's Converter? I ask because it runs on a Teensy, and I've pressed a ton of keys on my Phantom and every one registered.

edit: though I suppose the physical limitation maybe a problem? I'm not too sure.

Right.

The physical limitation on a standard M would be one top trace (there are 8 ) connecting with all the bottom traces (16) at once.

I know there was a thread of someone building custom membranes. Do you think you see a better way to arrange the traces?

I suppose one could be figured out if you wanted something friendlier to gaming, but that would be a tall order.
