My first ever mechanical keyboard, the X-Armor U9BL, has bit the dust. I fell for the lure of backlighting (a couple years back when it was a less common feature) and obviously picked a less than quality board, since nowadays (1) one of the keys doubles/triples occasionally on a single press, and (2) one of the LEDs has burnt out.
I come to GH itching to perhaps buy a 2nd keyboard, but also wondering whether this one is fixable. I assume the repeating key is either the solder behind the switch has cracked, or the switch itself is toast. Are the LEDs easy to desolder, etc. Would anyone ever buy a keyboard needing some TLC? I feel dirty dumpstering tech with minor issues.
I just don't know what to do. All I know is I need to make my click-happy fingers happy once more!
If anyone's advising me on a new board, I don't care about the caps printing process, want to try browns instead of blues, I want media keys [dedicated or FN+ is fine], prefer backlighting but don't require it especially if LEDs really do burn out after 2 years, torn between TKL or full, and have been eyeing Filco and Ducky since that's what NCIX carries in Canada.
