Yes. That is a Cherry MX Blue on a mouse.

Yeah, came out like over a year ago...

Edit - I think Leetgion is owned by Thermalright. They should stick to heatsinks imo :p

I wonder what double-clicking is like.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I wonder what double-clicking is like.

Well, just normal doubleclicking feels normal because every other button is a regular microswitch. the only MX switch is on the side for the attack button.

"The Omron Japan D2F-F Micro Switch has long been the top choice of custom mouse modders due to superior quality, durability and feel. The crème de la crop of mouse switches."

Wow, seriously?

I guess you could somehow program the MX switch to be left click...But even so it would still be a bit awkward.

Edit: ooooh project legendary seems kind of cool :D

There is a modded mouse on here somewhere, MX switch for left click, think it was on a death adder; the guy did 2 different mice.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Micro switches ain't as bad as domes. There's no mechanical mouse market because there's no other kind. Well except touch mice.

I still want a cherry mouse just cause though. Also novelty buttons.

Looks like I originally read over that because that's a rather odd choice for a main button switch, with 150g the actuation force is about twice as high as the usually used switches.

as the guy who mods cherry switches into mice... i can say that the micro switches are HORRIBLE for ergonomic/pressure reasons. You don't notice the extreme force that is needed to activate it on a force per centimeter area until you actually use a mx switch, i'm just 10 years ahead of the mice curve =p pretty sure you'll start modding soon.

Uhm, I'm pretty sure microswitches used on high quality Logitech mice are better for the job, and more expensive than even Topre switches.

Though MX should be better compared to the horrendous switches they use on the sides usually. They often restrict the good ones only for the main Left and Right keys.

I envisioned a keyboard could use microswitches but I suppose the pricing would be hilarious and it will probably need a mechanism to complement the switches with a more 'touch typing friendly' tactile event.

He appears to have noticed the problem I assumed it would be having. Typing would need a more rich tactile event than a mouse switch, so they probably need another supporting mechanism of some sort even if on their own on mice they are probably superior to any keyboard switch tech in robustness and effectiveness.

As nice as the feel of Cherry switches can be, I would imagine that 4 mm of travel is much longer than you want for mouse 1 and mouse 2 buttons.

The mouse is not too heavy, ambidextrous design, Avago ADNS 9500 sensor (meh). Looks alright.

But honestly, I do not think Cherry MX blue switches on a mouse are that good of an idea. You want the low travel distance and low actuation force. With mice, you are doing all kinds of things (moving it around, scrolling, using side buttons , LMB, RMB). You do not want pushing one button to interfere with anything else you are doing. This is the main reason why actuation should be fast and easy. The ideal switch for a mouse is entirely different that the ideal switch for a keyboard imo.

If you want more feedback on your mouse switches, just go for huano instead of omron switches. When it comes to side buttons, I still think I would prefer even cheap clicky low actuation force buttons to a Cherry MX blue.

I've seen black MX used as power and reset buttons on PC cases.
