4 pin mini DIN to PS/2?

The Maltron keyboard I purchased recently didn't come with a cable but to my surprise (or chagrin) has two 4 pin mini DIN ports... like ADB ports. However the label states it's an IBM compatible keyboard and no other evidence of an Apple edition exists.

Anyone run into this before? All I need out of this is PS/2, so I guess a passive adapter / hack might be feasible. I have an email out to Maltron to get to the bottom of this.

PS/2 only actually uses four pins. DATA+, VCC+, CLK+ and GND. The two additional pins on the six pin are MDATA+ and MCLK+ (mouse) for PS/2 splitters.

The question you want to ask is: what is the Maltron pinout and where can I get their particular cable and/or connector?

You haven't provided enough information for anyone to answer that though. Maltron makes a variety of keyboards and accessories including foot switches, and yes, they connect to the keyboards.

Maltron can probably set you up with the correct cable and which port it goes to. For some reason, my Digikey-fu is failing me and I can't even find the male 4 pin MiniDIN.

Yeah, only Maltron would know, unless you want to open up the keyboard and trace wires etc!

Even if they've used the PS/2 pinout it could be normal or mirrored, requiring a crossover or a straight-through cable respectively.

Yes, I already have an email out to Maltron, still waiting for a solution. Was mostly wondering if anyone else has run into this 4pin DIN on Maltrons or any other keyboard.
