in general, if you're buying a collectors item, then you tend to want it to be in a mint condition (and usage leads to wear/tear). i don't think that's a reasonable expectation in this hobby though (doubt anyone anticipated $10 keyboard skulls to be worth $850 five years later, so they used them), but if someone is auctioning something like a collector's item then the least they can do is be honest about its condition imo.
