First up is a Hakko FX888 that usually retails around $100, on sale for $80. (EDIT: Appears it's just the 888, not the newer 888D. It's an analog temp change system vs a digital one. Discontinued model. Exact same pen and heating element AFAIK, just a different interface.)

Unfortunately after shipping it's only a couple bucks cheaper than the 888D on Amazon (if you aren't paying for Amazon shipping).  On the other hand, I prefer the analog version, so if I needed it this wouldn't be too shabby.

Shipping only went up a dollar or two once I added the Solder and a Soldapullt. Viable option if you're going to be combining an order Do you think I should go Analog or Digital for the 888?

I like the quick and easy adjustment of grabbing the knob.  There are presets for the 888D, but personally, nothing beats a quick tweak of a knob.

Thanks for the opinion The Digital one looks weird anyway, only has a temp up button? I like the ease and simplicity of a knob. Looks like I'll be ordering it to(day)(night)

Yeah the temp adjustment is a digit modifier... like setting a digital alarm clock.  You select a digit and press up until it's the number you want.    blech!!!
