New Ducky Shine III - Rare Switch Types, TKL Version!
« on: Sun, 28 July 2013, 21:20:14 »
Decided to message ducky keyboards on Facebook and they said they may make small batches with mx clears and said "it's coming" towards the TKL edition.

What do you think will happen?

I'd not hold my breath if I were you, if it happens, it's not gonna be anytime soon.

Even if they make a limited run it doesn't mean we will ever see them.

Ducky seems to be shying away from clears and greens.

Good news on the TKL - wonder if there will be TKL Zero, TKL Zero SHine and/or TKL Shine 3?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

We should probably be thinking in terms of a possible MX clear version of the Shine IV, hopefully .

Carter from CM has said they are having a tough time getting clear switches for their boards, so they are probably tough to get in any quantity, at least right now.

Have they given any indication as of why? Is it switch availability?

Or perhaps just not wanting to offer 'too' many choices?
