G80-8113HRBUS-2 on $40 Ebay 1 hour left
« on: Thu, 01 August 2013, 09:52:34 »
Double-shot with 1.25 modifiers.
According to the Deskthority article, this will have either black or clear MXs.

However, I bought a G80-8113HUBUS-2 a couple weeks ago; and it had browns (Not black, as predicted by that article.)

I don't know if they are thick or thin double shots.

Decent price! When I bought mine, it came with browns and a gray spacebar. Really nice set but some of the profiles don't match if you want to put them in a standard TKL layout board (like the arrow keys)

OK if you want these guys for parts, not ok if you want a fully programmable Cherry.

Those with ps2s are old models and don't work perfectly with Win7, as I discovered sadly. The regular keys are fine, but the programmable keys, the programming functions, the drivers, Cherry tools etc are not. I'm going to have to dig out an old WinXP computer this weekend precisely to reprogram my own 80-8113.

BEware: if you buy a secondhand, the programmable keys may come with their own pre-programming from the last user. So you'll need an older computer to help get rid of their programming.

Double-shot with 1.25 modifiers.

Have you tried running Cherry Tools in compatibility mode with XP?

These old PS2 ones can be browns or clears (the DT article is for G80-3000's and the like) all mine are browns.

Keep in mind windows and menu are not doubleshot and this appears to have the iso-style enter key.

They should be cherry's normal size doubleshots (thick).

I didn't even notice the ISO enter!

Or you could run it as a virtual machine.

Sorry, I'm not tech savvy. Can you guys give me some pointers how I can run it on win7 without having to dig out an XP from my storeroom? My ancient XP is really filthy and not to mention I don't have 100% confidence that I can start it up again.

To run in compatibility mode you would right click on the '.exe' file and there is a tab for 'compatibility mode' click that tab then there is a check box and you can tell it to run like it is windows xp.

As far the virtual machine depending on which windows 7 you have it may or may not have it built in.

Last time I tried this (to program some access-IS keyboards) it did not work. I also tried "windows XP mode" to no avail.
