I thought i got an email saying it shipped. But I lost it. I don't know what it was from.

Anyone get any confirmation, yet?

DHL said they are delivering something to me on Friday. Could be this or one of about a billion other group buys I'm participating in *shrug*.

Design#1 Grey colour!

It is looking great, but a bit too heavy, though I guess its to be expected.
The Brass pokers at the back looks awesome in contrast to the grey, I think they should also work well on darker colors.
I don't know if there is anything else to be reviewed to be honest :/

I guess one criticism is that the top and bottom 'walls'(i don't know what to call them :x) are a bit thick.

Got my case, the blue color is absolutely amazing and now I regret not getting the brass weights in it but the weight is fine. Leaving for tailgating so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow or Sunday.

Got my case today. I decided to put up some box opening pics with initial reactions.

Package with beer for size reference.

Took DHL wrap off. Beer still there for size reference. Foam case.

Opened top foam layer. The case is protected very well. About an inch and a half of foam on all sides. Beer for reference.

Case taken out. Nice lines and cuts. Case smells like bacon. Beer for reference and starting to get warm.

Underside of case. Cool poker brass cutouts. Beer not in picture for reference.

I'll give an update after I install my PCB.

Let me know of you have any questions.

I want to do some comparison pics between this case, the hammer, and the other case whose name I forget.

Edit: there is no center pcb stem!

Edit: there is no center pcb stem!

Pardon my noobness.
if this case does not have the center stem how is this going to effect anything? It has 5 mounting posts instead of 6.... Is that really enough to make a PCB curve?
I have one of the acrylic layered cases and it has already curved in the few months since I got it. I was assuming that this one being aluminum would not have that issue.

I think if it's plate mounted then it won't be a problem. But not sure though ...

edit: I asked feng bout this before purchased, he said it shouldn't have negative effects on the PCB.
Let's see if this holds true on practice.

I haven't installed the pcb yet. But, to me, I think you can break the pcb without center support.

If you look at the pics I uploaded, there are small lifts in the rear center of the case that will support the back. This will help reduce the chance of the board bending in the middle a little bit.

I'm imagining the center keys feeling unsecured. You might only feel it if you press hard. Since I haven't installed the pcb, I can't comment on how secure it "feels".

Most likely, I won't notice it too much. But, that's only because I cram two layers of shelf liner. I have done this with my other aluminum 60 percent cases. It creates a secure feeling on most keys when bottoming out and not just on the keys near the standoff pcb mounts. I might also put a little piece of the shelf liner in the middle creating a small third layer in the middle to give better support.

I'm going to install the PCB when I get home later today.

Does anyone else think this makes sense?

Well I think I am going to put some plastic in the center then, not that it matters, the board I am putting in this case is going to have a 4mm thick aluminum plate lol

The pcb I'm using is plate mounted. Poker 2. So, it is better suited for this case, probably.

I have to test it when i get home later.

Here are two shots with the pcb in and some new key caps.

I put a small nut under the center area where the standoff should be. I also put three layers of cabinet liner in the case.

It feels very secure. I still wish it had the middle standoff but I think with the extra nut and liner, it will be fine.

I forgot to take comparison shots between the FMJ, MKC, and the Hammer case. I put the other cases away. I will take some comparison shots tomorrow.

I still have not had an opportunity to use a nice camera for my case, but I went ahead and installed my Pure into it. There is not that much of a weight difference between this one and the Hammer case, but that is expected because I got design 2 which has the nifty looking cutouts and such. The hammer is heavier in case that wasn't clear, but if I had brass poker mods it would probably be reversed. Mine has a couple of minor imperfections in the anodizing that I'm not too enthused about, but they are not really visible except from an extreme angle straight above the keyboard.

With minimal typing on it after removing it straight from the hammer case I'm going to say that I like the hammer case around 10% better, but I'll be keeping and using both for awhile anyways so it doesn't matter. Next comparison will be with an LZ-CE that will hopefully arrive any day now.

You're reading my mind. I was wishing I had a black space bar. It would look better.

I forgot to weigh it when I had the PCBs out of the cases. I did hold them both trying to "feel" the weight difference.

The Hammer actually feels heavier by a small degree. Maybe I'm imagining it. I thought the brass weights of the FMJ would put it over the top in terms of weight but it might be lighter than the Hammer. Without putting it on a scale, I can't be sure.

That mean you 're comparing Hammer case & FMJ case included brass weight? I can't belive Hammer case can heavier :(

mine does not have the center standoff either with no brass weights. I got version two with all the neat design and such. Looks awesome personally.

I brought my FMJ case to work to "burn it in".

My coworker thought the yellow and black was cool.

I let him pick it up. He almost dropped it because he didn't expect it to be so heavy. Good thing he didn't drop it.
