Good afternoon ladies and gents!
Just thought I'd say hello, signed up yesterday to see if I could get involved in your community.
I recently ordered my first ever mechanical keyboard, a CM Quickfire TK with Browns which I should be collecting from Novatech some time next week.
It's going to be replacing my Logitech G110, which I do kinda like, but it's just too big for my desk and I have absolutely no need for all the macro buttons etc on it.

My inner customer care politeness coming out there, first impressions are everything :)

I'm mainly a gamer really, with a bit of typing here and there, I'm sure the TK will serve me well. I'm considering taking it to work with me every now and then because no one at work can appreciate a good keyboard, to them, a keyboard is a keyboard. They scoffed at the fact I payed £50 for my current keyboard, I haven't even told them I'm spending £75 on one!

Damn, 400 bucks, that's quite a lot of money. I'm only on an apprentice wage at the moment so £75 was about my sort of limit for spending on a keyboard. I'm hoping it'll last me a long time though.

I'm sorry I don't actually know what a KMAC keyboard is lol :P I'm a noob at the moment in terms of keyboards lol but I will learn! :)

Some people think that it is cool just because it is a custom DIY keyboard kit from Korea that has a case made of aluminium, no Windows keys and costs a lot of money ...

Once you have built it, it has about the same functionality as any other tenkeyless keyboard, such as the incredibly much cheaper CMStorm Quickfire Rapid.

KMAC = Korean Made Aluminum Custom? I've never seen it explained so I'm not 100% positive. I am however sure that someone here will be meticulous enough to correct me, should I be wrong  :))

If you're personally against spending money, then how do you bring yourself to put down people who don't mind it?

Not everyone thinks the KMAC is "cool" because it's Korean or costs a good amount of money. It's a programmable keyboard in a rugged, aluminum case, and is highly attractive.

Yeah.... custom PCB, plate, case, everything except the switches and switch housing is completely custom, and there's software you can use to program the keys..

http://www1.kbdmania.net/xe/ is the origin of the KMAC as far as I know.

But forget about KMACs, GH does custom boards of its own! GH-60, etc. Just have to wait for the next group buy / project.
