If the color is new then what is the source? A pantone perhaps, or RGB value? It would be cool to look up the color in other ways.

pantone

_which_ pantone color is it, then?

Um.. forgot the number.. it was somewhere pretty close to the color right in the middle of the green to blue spectrum.

wait.. 3165u.. yeah that seems right. the number just poped into my head..
searched it and it looks like this:

hope that helps

That color of green is one of my absolute favorites... well, pretty close to it.  Nicely done.  Come to think of it, mixing the mods from the set you are selling now and the alpha from the "spoiler" set would look epic.

VA. They were shipped from Kentucky, so I suspect yours is right around the corner.

I take it as a given that most sets look better in real life than in the pictures.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Perfect match with that case!

It's hard to believe someone can't take 3 seconds to take a picture in the morning or sometime with daylight out...at least when you're trying to sell something.

I do not think you understand.  He isn't trying to profit from you guys.  He is just doing you guys a favor...

Yeah, they don't understand, but it's okay. Not everyone has to "get it." He already had the sets made, for sale in Korea, and did us a favor by selling us some sets before he returns to Korea. So a quick sale, with quick pics just to illustrate what was being sold. Not some marketing quality photos to advertise something for long term sales.

To those who missed out on these by requesting better photos, etc., I say good luck getting them. They may or may not be readily available outside of Korea. And they most certainly will carry a higher price with higher shipping costs.

Can't wait to get mine!

HesterDW - great looking board!

To all those complaint and whining- stop!
The man did us all a favor offering a nice key set at a good price before he left the country.
I would like to think soulfree914 for taking the time to offer this to us. I received mine today and it looks great!
I may put it on my Poker to show it off but I've got too many other things going on now

You guys are blowing it way out of proportion.  We just wanted to get a better idea of what it was like.  Some of you happened to know that this was a group buy for another country--most others didn't.  It just looked like a random advertisement.  No harm done in asking for clearer photographs.  So many replies filled with "should have paid first, asked later" kind of responses--only on GeekHack!   :))

Yeah seriously, definitely no harm in trying to make an informed decision.

Glad the set turned out great, and appreciate the organizer for running with it.

I know, but the price is really cheap for a non group buy.  It's readily available, and it costs $57.  Group buys usually go for that amount with a base and modifier set, around $65 total.

That's still a significant amount of money for some of us (myself at least).  You can get an entire set of thick doubleshot PBT for $33 + shipping...  Anyway, I have nothing else to add to this discussion, so I'll excuse myself out!  Just pointing out that there's no reason to tell us that we were wrong to ask for better photos to make an informed decision, as Longzilla said.

Thanks for the nice pics.It was totally fine for asking for better pics as I usually don't post a thread like this. I was really left with a limited time frame while dealing with a tough personal schedule. Imagine sorting 20 sets on a hot sunny day in the back of a SUV, packing (in flat-rate envelopes) and sending at the local post office for one hour while making your three coworkers wait in the car since we only had one rental car. :S I'm rather glad that only a few were sold. :D

I completely understand that you were doing this for a short time and helping out the members here on GH. I don't think any of us that commented about the pictures meant it to be disrespectful in any way.  I was just speaking as a photographer and that you use your images to sell the product. Also I'm a student so $60 might not be a lot to some, but to others it is. Without really knowing what the true colors were, I hesitated on buying. But hey you live and you learn.

Hopefully we will see more group buys from you in the future. The shipping turn around was incredibly fast.

Because they do look white, especially in natural light. That rhymed.

Bad photography.

That's WASD light gray on top. Even with "bad photography" light gray doesn't look white.  :-*

I had them in my hand and thought they were kinda creme. I put the on a white (creme) colored filco majestouch and then realized they were more of a very light grey.  They did not look goid on that case. I put them on a titanium kmac and they look very nice. The pic is above somewhere.
