DIY Switch Keychain?
« on: Mon, 14 October 2013, 20:57:13 »
I want to do more DIY projects. One that I would like to do is a switch keychain. How would I go by it? Are there any commonplace objects that can work as the case for the switchchain?

What do you mean by case for the switch keychain? Are you asking for suggestions for a nice box to put it in? Im abit confused. But, As for making a switch keychain, If you have any keychains laying around that you can use, start from there. Take that off. If its a keychain your going to most likely need some kind of chain to hold the switches of course, so start looking! You'll also need to buy or get the key loop thing. Its pretty simple, you'll just need to start looking. Good luck to you! I am planning to make a bracelet out of keycaps! Some what similar to your idea.
I cant be separated from my Model M

Some type of mold, and clear casting resin maybe? That's what the bottom picture looks like.

You should jam a couple of CR927 button cells in there and have the switch turn on an LED when depressed...

Perhaps a 19mm size D6 dice and use a dremel to grind out a hole for the switch?

16mm may work, too, but leaves very little margin for error. Hmmm, new ideas for number key keycaps, but not sure how to do 7, 8, 9 and 0..
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.
