Wife somehow left her car running for 5+ hours without knowing it.  Now the damn thing won't start.  I'm guessing bad battery or starter.  Hopefully nothing worse.  Last thing I wanted to do was have to likely pay someone to fix a car -_-.  How does that even happen?

Kidding :P

Lol tempting.  Ended up jumping it, drove to s gas station.... It was closed.  Car won't start.  Jumped it again.  Put it in reverse.....it dies. Jump it one more time.  Back up. Put it in drive........what would you know.....it dies.  Decide to push it, with my cousins help, 1/2 a mile or so to an advance auto parts.  We will be getting a new battery first thing tomorrow.

Side note 1. Took about 15 minutes or so for each jump :/.  Battery is dead as ****.

Side note 2:  the work out gods punished me for skipping my work out.

Night sucked but it could be worse.  I'm still angry, but I should try to be greatful for what I have.  I still remember working at Walmart part time for minimum wage as a cart pusher.

Thanks GH for listening to my rant!

If it helps my wife once left the car door open at the park which led to a dead battery. My wife also got really drunk and slashed the tyres on both our cars..... good times. She is not a psycho but that night she was a tad grumpy. This was also like 6 years ago.

Yeah but this was when we were still teenagers (just) and I was probably being a twit, well I must have because my wife is usually a pretty calm person and it was out of character.

The whole Fox Hunting debacle in the UK today is pissing me off.

I'm anti-fox hunting, but the way other people are cheering and saying it's a victory is idiotic and brain dead. A party from another country, voted (or threatened to vote against) something they allow in there own country, but because they hate David Cameron (and thus England and the rest of the UK) they are going against it out of revenge and spite, and openly admitting to doing so.
What an appalling day.

I have a good feeling towards hunting for the table, if for no other reason than it brings people and nature closer together, and teaches respect for the creatures that we share the planet with.

But "hunting" for sport or trophies is arrogant, cruel, and wasteful.

That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.

Well yes I read that before, but I'm clearly still confused.

If they're voting "against it", that means they're voting to disallow fox hunting in the UK?  That doesn't sound like a terrible outcome.  Also, how are people from non-UK countries voting for policies in the UK?

He's just peeved that they're only doing it out of spite, they don't actually care about the cause.

Well yes I read that before, but I'm clearly still confused.

If they're voting "against it", that means they're voting to disallow fox hunting in the UK?  That doesn't sound like a terrible outcome.  Also, how are people from non-UK countries voting for policies in the UK?

Basically;

In Scotland the the SNP (Scottish National Party) is in power, normally they do not vote in English only laws because it doesn't effect them, but they can (Scottish MP's can vote for things in England, despite them not affecting them or there constituents). However, in this case the SNP leader has said that she would vote against this particular law being re-instated (a law that isn't present in Scotland) simply on the basis of revenge against David Cameron and to spite the current Conservate government.

This is a monumental problem. We now have MP's voting, irrespective of there stances and political opinions but out of spite and revenge. They are voting against things which literally have nothing to do with them. The fact they managed to stop fox hunting laws becoming more lax (or making them on par with Scottish hunting laws) is irrelevant and people marking this day as a great day for animals and foxes are monumental morons.

Our party leaders are suppose to be elected representatives of said nation, what the **** kind of message does Scotland send to any other nation when they act out of revenge and spite? What does it say about the UK as a whole when party leaders, our representatives can't even behave like adults?

Today is a truly appalling day for British politics

This makes a lot of sense, and is a perspective I couldn't find simply by googling, so I hope you aren't peeved having to explain it.  :thumb:

That is a really stupid situation though - it's a shame that people can vote on things that do not affect their region at all, and especially that the system is being abused like that.

The whole Fox Hunting debacle in the UK today is pissing me off.

I have a good feeling towards hunting for the table, if for no other reason than it brings people and nature closer together, and teaches respect for the creatures that we share the planet with.

But "hunting" for sport or trophies is arrogant, cruel, and wasteful.

Literally the least important part of my problem with is is the fox hunting aspect.

Okay now I'm confused.  Can you give a rundown on the situation and why it bothers you?  O.o

A party from another country, voted (or threatened to vote against) something they allow in there own country, but because they hate David Cameron (and thus England and the rest of the UK) they are going against it out of revenge and spite, and openly admitting to doing so.

Couldn't change my address on UPS to hold my package in time for a delivery today so I've been waiting all afternoon for the driver to show up so that I can finish a custom cable for my Model F (I NEED IT NOW). So far I've missed every single delivery attempt by them ever so I'm literally sitting in front of my living room window on my laptop using this Macbook keyboard to do work.

it's a shame that people can vote on things that do not affect their region at all, and especially that the system is being abused like that.

I have never gotten my mind around that "semi-autonomous regions" concept. The framers of the US Constitution were very conscious of the need for a national government and state governments, with clear hierarchies of dominion between them. Which is not to say that there have not been struggles over where the lines of power are drawn, but the general outlines are clear.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I think they got rid of that ribbon cable that was in the 5s display, thank goodness since it makes repairs easier :D

I tried to make a down payment on the Hyundai at Carmax using a credit card...the only form of money they don't accept! Wasted the 45 minute round trip drive out there. I also learned of a Turbo Veloster on sale with 54k miles and is $1k more than the one I'm getting, but it's in Raleigh NC, not in SC. Not to mention the transfer wait time. Need the car this week...I hear that the 201bhp engine makes a difference but honestly I think I'll be fine with a base model - 19k miles is pretty sweet.

Yeah my board is safe I take it home every day now and just leave the cable plugged in, and again yes we are almost 99% this is the same person who broke in again, this time he smashed a window through and got through a set of metal bars now thes are not large gaps it's at best a gap of about 30-40cm last time he put through one of the windows and got through the gap above the window which again is like 30cm max hopefully he gets caught
