Just so we're clear: Buffalo is a town in New York.

There are no buffalo in Buffalo, New York (strangely). Buffalo wings are simply chicken wings dunked in a delicious sauce, and they're named after the town Buffalo (so I suppose they are indirectly named after the animal, but not directly, and the name has nothing to do with the type of meat.) where they were invented.
