Another day another basement ;)
says G80 at the start of the label, can't make out the rest.
This one is staying where it is, very much still in use...

Somebody on GH bought one of these a few months ago, I also once found one on ebay. Even though they're G80s, they don't use MX switches.

G80-0662, use M8 low profile switch. G80 was pretty much used on all mechanical Cherry models until ML was introduced.

Top appears to be Key Tronic foam and foil.

Bottom looks like the bastard child of Acer and SMK. Need biggar picture. Plus a picture of the rear label for OEM/model information.

Bottom looks like Monterey Blues to me.  Mine had that weird light blue, semi-transparent look to them.

Interesting ... the bottom one is a Datacomp. I can't quite make out the model number though.

The switch is basically this: http://deskthority.net/wiki/SMK_Alps_mount — SMK Alps mount, AKA "Monterey".

However, the upper shell is clearly different. Subtle, but not the same shape as other Monterey switches, nor any other SMK second generation variant I'm familiar with. How odd. Oops, no, it's one of those mounting holes with an angled-down flap; the switch is the normal shape.

The bottom is definitely Monterey Blues.  They're nice unless the board is a POS like the Chicony you can find with them.

The switches feel pretty good. It's got a 5 pin DIN plug, any idea if it's possible to get this working via USB adaptor?
It's not in bad nick, needs retrobriting tho ;)
I'm going to bin the compaq board unless anyone wants it or its caps, PM me if you want it

datacomp you were right, this one is datestamped 1993 and has DS caps tho

I'll drop them a line about that. Mechanical Keyboards gave me a tip-off about Datacomp's new Alps clone switches ages ago, but they've never appeared anywhere and Datacomp never responded to me when I enquired. That website has a different e-mail address; fingers crossed I'll get more sense out of them that way.

Looks like you have a keyboard to add to the wiki, plus it would be nice to also have some shots (various angles) of those unusual SMK switches for the wiki.

So long as it's an AT keyboard, yes, you need a passive AT to PS/2 adaptor, then a PS/2 to USB converter.

It was in a government building hooked up to some equipment which controlled the internal mail system air plant, not 007 at all :)
