Winners announced here! If you won something, please PM me!

In about a month (12/16/13), it will be my one year anniversary on GeekHack. It’s been a pretty amazing year and gone by very quickly. I want to celebrate with all of you so I’m doing this giveaway. Plus its Christmas-time and we all like Christmas cheer :D.

What am I giving away?

First Prize

(Picture from missalaire)
QuickFire Rapid with MX Blacks and old style grey case (Used, bought and shipped from missalaire)

Second Prize

(Picture from dianoda)
Mint Green MX Skull Clack (Currently living on the Print Screen on my KMAC)

Third Prize

Custom RGB Lego set (Stack on the left, made at Legoland Chicago, engraved on 2x4 Lego Bricks)

What do I have to do?
This will be a battle rap/rap verse/haiku contest. In other words you need to come up with and post a verse or a haiku that is keyboard or GeekHack related. Yes, I’ll give people bonus points if they reference Dipset, Wu-Tang, or Biggie. I’m looking for something along these lines:

My name is Moose.
M to the double O S E
I used to be a damn noob like C P T
I guess even back then, you could call me
Better than the H H K B (MOOSE)

Almost a year here, I know you admire
Every time I step in a thread and what transpires
Flyer than my signature longer than CLiB's name
I got a bunch of quotes in the signature game

That's right, MOOSE
Not C P T, and unlike any of them letters
No one can make 'em wetter
I check keyboards like a customs inspector
My homie, Bunny, told me, "I'm hungry for some lettuce"

Now guess what I'ma do? You like MY? Check this
Never know when I'm trolling or serious, so reckless
Don't think of adding me to your ignore list, respect this
You only hurt yourself if you're trying to neglect this

And the whole rap battle between moose and CommunistWitchDr in that thread. Can’t figure out a good rap verse? Write a haiku. I'm thinking a four line minimum for the rap verses and a standard haiku is three lines, 5-7-5.

I also have some special giveaways for things I’ll deem awesome such as best put-down in the rap verse and best reference to Wu-Tang. We’ll see how this goes.

My sister is making these custom GeekHack beanies for this giveaway. But I can have a few made so if someone just wants one, just let me know.

Rules?
  • You must have 100 posts
  • I’m covering all shipping costs in CONUS, international must cover their shipping from me. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
  • Please don’t be whiny. These are my things to giveaway so I get to pick the rules :D
  • You get one entry, tell me which one you want to use. If you're going to rap battle, just point out the one you like best
  • Contest ends December 13th, 2013 @ 2359 (11:59 PM EST). I will try and send this out so the winner gets it by Christmas. No promises though.
  • I will announce three winners: first, second, and third. First person gets first pick of the prizes. Second person gets to pick what’s leftover. Third person gets what is left over. The hats I’ll give to whomever I feel like :P
  • Have fun. For what it's worth, I gave away something last time simply because I laughed really hard. (Props to nubbinator for twerking)

Quote
This is for the Geeks
And this is for the Hackers
This is for the Geeks
And this is for the Hackers
Now back to the Geeks
Freeze, at ease, now let me drop some more of them keys

Congrats!  :thumb:

Yo Captain, C P T
Your not a Bad Ass, you're far from it
Lug yo fat ass back in the kitchen
Stop giving away, cuz you aint got nothing to give
But you know what I want
I want dat clack, dat click clack
clickn on my cc, giving me the bb's
making the :whooooo: scary skull
into a harmless blank
just like your wallet
after G to H
GeekHack

G to the G
#BidEarlyBidHigh

I kinda lost the groove halfway through. Hope my ending works

Works in progress

I grew up on the SP, the thin ABS side
Staying shiny was no jive
Had secondhands, Mom's bounced on old John
So then we moved to PBT land
A young youth, rocking the gold moose, 'Lo goose
Only way I begin to GeekHack off was Classifieds loot
And let's start it like this son, rolling with this cap and that cap
Pulling out Caps for fun
But it was just a dream for the teen, who was a fiend
Started smoking sticky ickies at 16
And running up in gates, and doing Group Buys for high stakes
Making my way on fire escapes
No question I would speed for clacks and caps
The combination made my eyes bleed, Red Alert Style

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Another fantastically generous GH member :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

They call me wildcard, and I'll tell you why.
Cause unpredictability explains this guy
I've got a whole bunch of switches with little time, to mess with these domes that mess with your mind.

I like a board to be solid or I start to get board.

I like a plate to be firm, and a sleeve on my cord.

I like a costar mod because the cherries bob.

I like the cherry click except at my job.

I like to lube dem switches and tighten that spring.

I like my buckling spring, cause it's my thing.

I use keycaps thick, and my CCs rock.

And my topres thock, like an electric shock.

Air pollution causes extinction
Driesen 3 (David, Environmental Scholar and Law Prof @ Syracuse, Fall/Spring 2003, Buffalo Environmental Law Journal, p. Lexis)
Air pollution can make life unsustainable by harming the ecosystem upon which all life depends and harming the health of both future and present generations. The Rio Declaration articulates six key principles that are relevant to air pollution. These principles can also be understood as goals, because they describe a state of affairs  [*27]  that is worth achieving. Agenda 21, in turn, states a program of action for realizing those goals. Between them, they aid understanding of sustainable development's meaning for air quality. The first principle is that "human beings. . . are entitled to a healthy and productive life in harmony with nature", because they are "at the center of concerns for sustainable development." 3 While the Rio Declaration refers to human health, its reference to life "in harmony with nature" also reflects a concern about the natural environment. 4 Since air pollution damages both human health and the environment, air quality implicates both of these concerns. 5

The timeframe for bioweapons to spread globally is six weeks
Levy 7 [Janet, a consultant for ESG Consulting, an organization that provides consulting services for project development and management primarily related to national security and terrorism, “The Threat of Bioweapons”, The American Thinker, 6-8-2007, http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/06/the_threat_of_bioweapons.html]
Biological weapons are among the most dangerous in the world today and can be engineered and disseminated to achieve a more deadly result than a nuclear attack. Whereas the explosion of a nuclear bomb would cause massive death in a specific location, a biological attack with smallpox could infect multitudes of people across the globe. With incubation periods of up to 17 days, human disseminators could unwittingly cause widespread exposure before diagnosable symptoms indicate an infection and appropriate quarantine procedures are in place. Unlike any other type of weapon, bioweapons such as smallpox can replicate and infect a chain of people over an indeterminate amount of time from a single undetectable point of release. According to science writer and author of The Hot Zone, Richard Preston, "If you took a gram of smallpox, which is highly contagious and lethal, and for which there's no vaccine available globally now, and released it in the air and created about a hundred cases, the chances are excellent that the virus would go global in six weeks as people moved from city to city

I'm not a rapper, but enjoy:
Please read this in the tune of this song:

The Hybrid smoking on keyboards
That give you keyboards bronchitis, what you write is all keyboards
What I write is keyboards
Keyboard, that's great like eighths of Grape Ape getting stuffed in my suitcase
Ready to hit the studio and **** all on your keyboard
Nah, literally, **** all on your keyboard
Wipe with the credits, leave stains on the keyboard case
In just two takes, keyboard, the booth'll get souffléd
You're hiding something like a keyboard
Truthfully, my keyboard: touché
You gon' get exposed like an up-and-coming keyboard
And to me your keyboard seems like one of them pageant keyboards
So guess who's the little keyboard? That's you
You must suck a lot of keyboards: That's true

If that doesn't suffice, a haiku

Red, White, and Blue, Yum
The Best Click-Clack Out there, Yo
Julysicles, Yum

thanks for running the giveaway cptgladass :P

They call me wildcard, and I'll tell you why.
Cause unpredictability explains this guy
I've got a whole bunch of switches with little time, to mess with these domes that mess with your mind.

I like a board to be solid or I start to get board.

I like a plate to be firm, and a sleeve on my cord.

I like a costar mod because the cherries bob.

I like the cherry click except at my job.

I like to lube dem switches and tighten that spring.

I like my buckling spring, cause it's my thing.

I use keycaps thick, and my CCs rock.

And my topres thock, like an electric shock.

I like this, I like that
Your name is wildcard?
more like repetitive whack

Cherry, topre, and bs to add
aint you a bit indecisive
following all the keyboard fads

And how do you tighten a spring
cause it sounds like you and keyboards
are just a fling like me and ming

So many rhymes, so many finds
All the cool things that will never be mine.
Carved from a block with her tolerance fine.
Molded in a form or laser cut to save time.

I tighten that spring to reduce that ping.

Done in a group to help the mass buy
Assembled in a shop or at home if you try.

Looking at the clock

Losing all the light

Ol' dirty, he'd be calling it

And to all a good night

Damn.  As demik can attest, I am fantastic with deconstructing the deeper level meaning of rap lyrics and informing listeners about the depth and complexity and even philosophical quandaries presented in rap, but I, myself, am horrible at constructing meaningful rap lyrics.  Maybe it is time for the scholar to become the artist.

Only on Geekhack can I spend my hard earned fat stacks on Click Clacks and knick knacks and learn geek facts on kmacs and dye subbed black on blacks

It's that place you can go where all the bots are bros, double shots flow, and all the pros know how to finger a HO

Gettin on my Filco and I tippity tap,
let my fingers do the talkin as I yippity yap
postin up in off-topic on the Geekity Hack
Spitin verses for the Captian cause he wants us to rap

Student loans, rubber domes, and cellular phones

These three things rhyme, so just leave it alone

When I first came to Geekhack my mind was blown

a whole world opened up, I couldn't leave it alone

Topre's, Cherry's, Moogle kits, and Red Alert clones

Soon my wallet was drained, and the seeds were sown

Now I'm on here err day talkin boards and switches

And my britches get in hitches talkin glitches with you *****es

But that's all good, cause for all the butthurt that tries to subvert,

I just roll my eyes and smirk and continue to lurk

I'm the self-proclaimed master of keys
got all sorts of wizardry underneath my sleeves
remember the name, I'll have it dyesubbed in ya brain
I'm here to pop cherries, enlighten you with Topre
I have a tendency to bring the ruckus
cus the profiteers here be lookin to **** us
I got Serbian blood rushin through my veins,
the rest of you softer than a rubber membrane
I'm bring the heat here like a doubleshot injection
with lyrics worth more than jcrouse's CC collection
this is not a debate or an election, crown me king of this battle
I'll make ya brains rattle worse than a pingy Filco,
call me the status quo cus TEAM THORPE is the one to beat,
I hope you got a receipt for that MX excretion,
I'm the Topre messiah here on a mission,
to bring the good feeling of oneness with cup rubber,
when a mod comes by some of you bend over and pucker
but I see you Pacifist, your victory is fleeting,
your name alone is self-defeating,
Mother Theresa would be proud,
yield to me like MX to Topper,
you just cannon fodder and this is a home run
why should anyone listen to a keyboard nun?

Yo captain, this hacka fo real over here?
He thinks he can just step an to CWD with no consequence?
Let's give this lastpilot his last flight.
---
Doubleshot
Drop it hot
Go ahead and bring it on
And I'll play ya like a pawn
Mad explosive lyrics
Poetry atomic bombs
Step into the Doctor's office, Lethal injection
You be payin for your wrongs
While I cook up my mad confections
Give geekhackers they rap god

And I'm
Clicky just  like greens
Make ya buckle just like springs
Smooth and shine like ABS
Rough and tough like PBT
You wear out just like pads
Lyrics fade away too fast
Hide yo ass, son you won't last
Rhymin too far out yo class
Logitech facin up to a KMAC
Feel that custom spring force blast back
Scared of my ergo keyboard cap packs?
Well run away, cause I ain't scared of jack.

I be pourin Acetone, melt ya down
Hardcore rap poet, goes to town
Crash yo plan right in my sea of rhymes
Better shape up *****, yell drown
Under keyboard centric slang
And disses put you in a daze
Leave your mind blank, just a haze
Blowin smoke like clickclack's stickiy ickys
Choke ya out four hundred twenty ways
Call me Phantom of the keyboards
I rappin mad popular plays
My soul pure madness like keythulhu
Make yer mind break, go insane

So CPT, I hear it's your anniversary
I find it weird you were here a shorter time than me
Thank you for makin' this forum feel like a nation and adding to the sensations we get, congratulations!

First of all, I'd like to give props to Moose,
His rhymes are tight and his tongue is loose.
He's got what it takes but his fatal mistake was submitting too early so he's outa this race!

So let me get back to the task at hand
I've spend enough time with my head in the sand
In your OP you've made rules a bit,
I chose the rap game, cuz my haikus are ****

Now on with the bonus points, Do I smell a bluff?
Cuz rhymes about Biggie just ain't all that tough,
And as for this topic he ain't up to snuff but I guess that's because he's not clicky enough.

I'll end this this right here, the length is just wack
The last little verse in my all out attack
I'll say a few words to the rest of the pack
And that's sorry to y'all cuz I'm takin' that clack!!

I hope that's enough, I know my skills are vapid
Unlike a quickfire, I'm just not all that rapid

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
