Sadly the only available keyboard I can purchase is CM Storm Quickfire Pro, is it any different from the Quickfire XT ? Besides the backlights which I don't really want or need.

What's limiting you only to CM boards?
The comments of people here made me understand that CM Storm Quickfire XT is the best choice I can get.
Also, I don't plan on switching a keyboard for the next couple of years, I like to stay loyal and to adapt to the keyboard so hopefully my wallet won't get emptied : P.

My Quickfire Pro is the best board I've ever bought... at $45 BNIB, thanks to the geekhack 40% off or whatever sale last year.

Hi, Welcome to geekhack forums!

Ideally you should create this question in your own thread instead of placing it in someone else's thread as this may gain you more exposure rather than giving others the impression you are talking about an old subject.

Mechanical keyboard newbies are generally recommended CM QFR as their first mechanical keyboard (unless implied otherwise). Ducky is usually fancy, and Keycool ninja are relatively new to the scene (compared to the other two brands).

The choices you mentioned along with the site you posted, it seems that Keycool ninja is the only thing that stood out from the rest. However that is mainly due to the front printing for the key legends. It seems as though if one wants to stick to the safe side of things CM gets the thumbs up on this forum.

Yeah i was thinking about making my own thread but since this is already there, i dont want to waste peoples time by browsing through different threads lol so i made it here. But it is noted, i will create another thread next time.

Ok thanks for the info, but i think i will be getting an increase on the budget, and might consider Filco 87 Ninja TKL. Is it worth the extra cash ? or should i stick to a CM/Keycool Ninja ? because im really into the "Ninja" theme lol.

From your first post I can see that you are happy with your current keyboard. First thing I want to ask is, why do you want a mechanical keyboard? For me, I won't lie, getting a mechanical keyboard was like buying an expensive watch. I bought it for looks, and to bring it to LAN parties to fit in with all my other friends and their mech boards. I don't regret buying them, and I use my mech 95% of the time, unless I'm too lazy to get it and use my laptop keyboard, like right now. You won't get a faster WPM, you won't game better and you won't be doing your wallet a favor. If you want to get into mechanical keyboards, by all means I am behind you one hundred percent, and I'm sure you'd love it, but it is definitely not required and you seem to enjoy your current keyboard. You know what they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

My current keyboard is already half-way to being broken lol, it's also dirty as **** and I have no way of cleaning it.
I want a mechanical keyboard because it seems like the best choice for a keyboard, people say that "once you try a mechanical keyboard you'll never go back to rubber domes" so I assume it's the right choice.
Though once again, is the difference between CM Storm Quickfire XT and CM Storm Quickfire Pro a big difference ? Since I can only get the Quickfire Pro.

I can personally use rubber domes fine. I can "feel" the difference between the two, now that I've tried both, but it's not like I cry every time I have to use a rubber dome. XT is full size and the QFR is tenkeyless meaning no numpad. How often do you use the numpad? I was set on getting a full size when I started looking for a keyboard, but on the recommendation of some of the guys here, I went with the QFR and I haven't regretted it once. If you are using the numpad constantly, it will be somewhat of a hard transition. I used the numpad occasionally for the calculator and for general number inputs so transitioning to the QFR was somewhat difficult for the first few days as I'd find myself reaching for the nonexistent numpad. After using it for a while I actually started to enjoy it a lot as it is better "ergonomically" since it puts your mouse closer to your body. I would wholeheartedly suggest the QFR. It is a solid keyboard built to last and I have never had any problems with mine. Plus detachable USB cord, come onnnnn.

I kinda have the reason with you, i want a keyboard for myself, to bring to lan party's etc. Money is really not an issue for me but i do like to keep a budget for my expenditure. I was using my friends filco the other day and fell in love instantly with that mech keyboard. He got a Filco Majestouch 2 if im not wrong with brown switch.
Im here to ask suggestions regarding on what to purchase for a new person like me :)

Note: i just ask some retailers, they ran out of Keycool ninja and the CMS QFR  :-[

Sorry about that. I actually haven't had any experience with the pro and have personally started to dislike the full size keyboards. Not to mention the case looks ugly IMO. That being said, there are most likely at least one or two reviews on the forum and a quick search should bring up the information you seek. BUT, at that price ($102 from what I saw), you are in the ball park for some other quality brands such as the Ducky Shine 2 (last years model but a good keyboard either way). If the QFP is what you end up wanting, be on the look out for sales. It was on sale for $50 after MIR not too long ago. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=49546.msg1072181#msg1072181

Hi, Welcome to geekhack forums!

Ideally you should create this question in your own thread instead of placing it in someone else's thread as this may gain you more exposure rather than giving others the impression you are talking about an old subject.

Filco has been around for quite sometime. I was initially under the impression that you were referring to Filco Ninja and not Keycool Ninja but after seeing the link you pasted it seems like Keycool also has Ninja which sort of confuses the entire situation. I personally believe Filco Ninja has been out before Keycool Ninja and so it seems that Keycool just sort of copied the idea for use on their boards.

There has been very few complaints with Filco in general. Personally I would get Filco but only because (to me mainly) that Filco has been around longer. CM definitely is fairly well recommended (probably as long as you don't get the TK version, not to be confused with TKL). Support-wise CM gets more but Filco are not that far behind.

The Keycool Ninja does not seem to have much going for it on the plus side of things except maybe for the fact that it may retail cheaper and that it is a Keycool brand and not Filco. Keycool seems to see very little support on the forums with a few people reporting here and there about Keycool.

TK ones are made in China, Other CM QFR ranges are made in Taiwan. You may find some people on here would recommend not getting TK unless if they were on tight budget. Though otherwise it seems the non-TK are well received, it could be a change in quality control.

Should do well - what switch?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to.
I meant Quickfire Pro : http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Pro-Mechanical/dp/B007VDOOBU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388752481&sr=8-1&keywords=CM+Storm+Quickfire+Pro
Not Quickfire Rapid : P.

Yeah, it was mostly just an example of how low the price of the QFP CAN go.

Got myself a ducky zero for $50 :D and many thanks to the guys here for the suggestions :D

Should do well - what switch?

I got the reds. I was aiming for some browns/reds. Im quite satisfied with what i got right now. :D

That's the main thing!
In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Well then I can order the Quickfire XT from eBay :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cooler-Master-CM-Storm-QuickFire-XT-Keyboard-PS-2-USB-U-SGK-4030-GKCM1-US-/271369219556?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3f2eddade4
And the Deathadder :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Razer-DeathAdder-2013-6400-DPI-4G-Optical-Sensor-Gaming-Mouse-Clickyourshop-Pad-/271217556879?pt=Mice&hash=item3f25d37d8f
Though I'm afraid about it's quality since it's eBay and not Amazon, even though they both have high ratings it still may be damaged or corrupted isn't it ? I mean it's electronics it's not cloth or something.
