Realforce 87U Keypad
« on: Sun, 22 December 2013, 19:00:48 »
Quick question for anyone familiar with the Realforce 87. Is there any modifier key to access the numpad without toggling on/off with the NumLock?

Edit: Pretty sure it's no.

I'm currently typing this message on a wonderful 87U... I'm not aware of way to access the numpad without toggling the numlock but you can easily make a Autohotkey script to do exactly what you are looking for.

Yeah, you need to use NumLock to access the numpad feature.  Getting a separate, stand-alone numpad like the 23U is actually more convenient than using the numpad feature built into the 87U.

It makes a nice Clack display platform too

I was told by my Realforce Distributor in Indonesia that the 23U and 23UB is discontinued because there's new model coming out.
I hope Topre will release it soon and available in 55 gr  ;D
Leopold numpad cherry mx red switch version is too soft and no feel when I click on it.

Well the trick is to just buy one HHKB Pro 2 and one RealForce 23U.  You would spend $400 up front, but would save money over the long run.

Anyway, everybody has to wait for the new Topre numpad.  Let's hope the price is under $100.  I'm hoping, but I doubt it.

If there is a CM keyboard with Topre switches but MX keycaps, I wonder if there will be a matching numpad?

Where did this rumor of a CM keyboard with Topre switches and MX keycaps start?  Is there any truth to it?  It sounds so far fetched that I'm pretty sure my unicorn ranch will happen first.
