Based on GH60. RevB version of leds accused of DIY
« on: Sun, 05 January 2014, 09:09:48 »
2013 of the GH60. REVB PCB, late for personal use is more, don't want to just 11 light, so doing the GH60. REVB, has carried on the significant change.
The original GH60. REVB changes include the following several parts:
1. Led lights the modification of the road. Change the original matrix in light to all parallel;
2. Remove the part reserved expansion port, only retained the ISP download cable port;
3. Increase the LED driver circuit. Using 32 u4ic built-in Pwm chip, through a me9926 MOS switch circuit to control the led light, dark, and switch;

The problems existing in the revision:
1. The location of the screw holes on PCB, compared to the original is not very accurate, and the commonly used shell on the market, such as POKER2 shell, compatibility is bad;
2. The plate type the length, width, compared with the original GH60 have 1 mm error, the original is 285 mm * 94.6 mm, because of inadequate experience, my own DIY change becomes the 285 mm * 95.6 mm.

I upload the gerber files on making, hope to be able to share with you my achievement.

I think losing poker case compatibility is bad.

On this version of the whole lamp PCB matching and permit a problem, in my next edition correction, will perfect compatible POKER2 and other shell.

Maybe I am just dense, but what is your motivation for doing this?

Seems like he wanted to modify the GH60 to support full backlighting using only the onboard ATmega32U4 controller and an expansion IC. While doing this, it was necessary to lose the expansion pins to allow for such things as a numpad add-on, etc. So you lose some functionality of expansions, but you also don't require an expansion module to enable full backlighting.

My bad. I thought the GH60 was fully backlit compatible which is why this was confusing for me. Thanks for clearing that up.
