Greetings from Leighton Buzzard, UK
« on: Mon, 10 February 2014, 13:46:35 »
So, err. Hi?              I'm stuck with a membrane keyboard and I am looking at buying a ducky shine III with MX blues TKL version with orange backlighting. I have found it for £109 at overclcokers.co.uk. Do you have any other suggestions for a mech with an orange and black colour scheme to match the rest of my setup? Or, for that matter, a cheap TKL keyboard with black keys and somewhere where I could buy orange was and space keys? I hope you can help, thanks.

Hey, you can get a cheap CM Storm Quickfire Rapid and buy orange WASD + Spacebar from wasdkeyboards.com or pimpymykeyboard.com - but if you prefer to have backlighting, you could just buy the Ducky Shine 3. You could buy those orange keys for that keyboard, too.

I do prefer having a backlight, but it isn't essential. I'll have a look at the Cooler Master option you mentioned. Thanks.

I have one for sale if interested! It's tenkeyless (so no number pad) BUT it just got a new black plate on it so its black keys with a black body, a green triforce escape key and I have blank red modifier keys for wasd and qwer (league of legends / dota modifiers) and a blank red spacebar! And like epzy said, pimpmykeyboard and wasdkeyboards are great places to get replacement keycaps

Actually, that sounds pretty good, except I'd swap out the red keys for orange to match the rest of my HID's. How much do you reckon postage to the UK would be?

I'll find out for you! It would probably be a lot though :/ you'd probably be better off buying one off Amazon.uk

Yeah. You're probably right. The one that I'm looking it is kinda neat. What do you think?

absolutely yes. Duckys are awesome. You could also look up Filcos! honestly, if you have the budget, bypass the quickfire series and go straight into the better companies (ducky, filco, etc)

Is it worth £11 extra and losing the backlighting to get a filco?

No, not if you would like backlighting. You gotta decide on which stabilizers you want, and if you really want backlighting or not. If you want Cherry stabilizers, get Ducky, if you want Costar stabilizers, get a Filco.

I do know the difference between the two, as in what they are, but in how they feel. I don't suppose you could fill in that knowledge gap for me, could you?
