Where to find a kmac or cheat with my specs? Need advice / help
« on: Tue, 11 February 2014, 14:08:51 »
Hi, I have just gotten into the whole mechanical keyboard collecting thing and have purchased a duck dk9005s shine 3 yellow edition with MX blues and PCB key caps. I am in love with this thing but since I got it a few weeks ago, I have been dragging it back and forth from work everyday and I am afraid I am going to damage it. I’ve seen some of the kmac and cheats for sale here and am really impressed by them. My question is this, I am looking for a high quality board with  backlit with White LEDs and a cherry mx keycap that is similar to blues but not as noisy(I still want feedback, I’m thinking mx clears??). I would prefer a tenkeyless with an optional attachable numpad add on with.(I’ve seen a kmac here on the classifieds with one but it was sold .) I haven’t been able to find anything anywhere else as far as a kmac or cheat with add on num pad that was all white backlit. Is this something I will need to get made custom? If so any advice as to where? I have a feeling What I want is way to specific but I fiquered I’d ask. I welcome any and all feedback, comments and advice. Thanks!

I wouldn't transport a kmac or any aluminum korean custom board. They weigh over 4 pounds and while they are going to be stronger than a plastic board, they can still get dented, scratched or broken. That isn't the point of aluminum keyboards.

You can buy a kmac 2 right now on originative if you really want to.

MX whites are clicky like blues but they are more quiet. KMAC 2 doesn't have full backlighting though, and it needs assembled.

Whites are pretty similar to blues, especially if they have lighter springs *COUGH* Lol anyway, regarding your LED reqs, just know that none of the KMAC pcb's support full LED. Only top row, caps lock and WASD light up.

If you're looking for a custom board with full LED support your choices are pretty much a87 or TriK [a.k.a. LZ boards].

I'm just looking for 2 so I can keep 1 at home and 1 at work I don't plan on transporting them.

It doesn't have to be custom I was just assuming it WOULD HAVE TO be to meet my criteria
