all the IBM turns up in Australia
« on: Wed, 19 February 2014, 01:45:45 »
http://www.ebay.com/usr/iamlzq

I see industrial SSK, NIB SSK, two industrial M13's two "normal" industrials. The list goes on

Australia had better not complain about the IBM kb's that show up on ebay today!

Pretty awesome!

Err "Shipping: AU $101.75" Sounds great..

Edit: seems that shipping may only be that high for some of the items and I just happened to check out that one. Haha.

Bad move to sell everything at once if you want to max out the bids.
Perhaps he needed the money.

That IBM SSK cost him 450EUR if i remember correctly. That was from webwit.

At the prices these things go for, a few tens of dollars of additional shipping is a drop in the bucket.

The ultimate bad move may be selling the three M15's as a group with no reserve.

Hope it goes well.

I have cried to sellers for years about listing multiple similar items with ending times close together.

Unless your buyers are particularly well-heeled and might actually want multiple copies of something, they are likely to place a bid on only one, and not take a chance on winning more than they wanted or could afford.

I would recommend several hours, minimum, between closing times so that losing bidders could have time to re-group and move to "Plan B"

I bet everyone goes nuts over the industrial SSK and the M15s go do cheap. Why no one gets that the M15 is way, way, way better than any SSK I'll never understand...

M15 is based on m which many people prefer less to the "normal" model M.

I notice there's no model F here. My theory is the seller got a model F and decided he was "done" with all that membrane nonsense. (It's a theory, anyway)

I still have NIB soft-touch, NIB M2, NIB 1390120, NIB MODEL F, NIB M5 kit, some very rare custom model m.
but I ran out time to take pics of them. so they will be round 2.
I bought them nearly 3 years ago, so even them might go low but still much more than when I paid for.

anyway, My main collection is cherry.
those model m are just bonus from ebay hunting.

Laggy, if any of us here win an auction would you be willing to mark the item as a gift with a lower value than we paid when you ship it in order for us to avoid customs fees?

Also, will you be listing any of the black-label industrial 101s that you posted photos of in your original sale thread on ebay?

yes I will.
in Australia we dont pay tax for items less than $1000 for online shopping (if the policy remains).
so I am willing to declare what ever amount you guys want.

and I got three black lable Industrial 101, one is reserved. but I find out the other two have scratches on edge.

I prefer not to sell them for $150,
maybe I will get one to Elrick
then sell the other for cheap.

btw, I may have 2-3 ssk for sale.
all in mint condition.

If you decide you want to sell those black-label industrials on GH instead of on ebay let me know, as I'd love to get one! I had PMed you about it before but didn't get a response.

Also, good to know about the shipping.

I'd love a full size M industrial, but there's no way I'd want to pay what they go for these days. I hope you get a great price for all of it, and that the buyers will use and enjoy them, instead of just hoarding.

I use the ones I paid for. although that may change when my F finally gets in (as far as I can make out, this is my "one board to rule them all").... Do want an Industrial SSK for mobile use though...

A few of the keyboards have finished now - there are some happy (if slightly poorer) Model M owners now.

One of the industrial SSK has reached $800
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It's good Laggy is getting some decent moolah for his collection, which can only occur on Ebay.  I can understand moving away from the BS simply because there are better keyboards out there to own  :thumb: .

I hope he gets all the amount he's looking for on his whole collection.

Let us see what will happen.
a local member picked up NIB model F and some good stuff.
I might put some custom Model M 101 as a bundle.
and also one NIB SoftTouch,
Which I consider rarer than M15

Bad move to sell everything at once if you want to max out the bids.
Perhaps he needed the money.

The ultimate bad move may be selling the three M15's as a group with no reserve.

Hope it goes well.

I'm pretty sure it was only for one M15?

The first photo is only on the thumbnail, and not on the same desk as the other photos, and the description does not say the listing is for three. He calls the keyboard a "triangle" - he doesn't say there are three.
